  1. rwdozier , thank you and I agree... "I seem to recall seeing a thread which shows photos of CA users with their office setup showing the monitors in use. Anyone know where it is or could some of you post some photos of your large monitors/TVs in use? Thanks!" I have had the same trouble as if Google images is locked in one vein of images, .....weird
  2. Thank you all for the contributions, I'm convinced and I'm going to plunk down the money for a 40- or 50" monitor to replace one of the 32" older model that I have. I'm probably going to go to Walmart as a matter of convenience and price and while I would like a Samsung and will never buy LG....is there another brand that has worked well for your design work?
  3. Yes, I'm doing this now and so far so good but I still feel a little lost...lol
  4. Thank you David, I'm troubled by your last sentence about things imported in a "scattered manner." I have very little experience working with this type of importation so I'm wanting to make sure I don't corrupt something accidentally. Ideally I'm looking to do it with someone who will look over my shoulder while I do it or vice versa and record it while doing so. I have two projects to work on this back to back and one has a very tight lot restriction.
  5. Well, I'm still re-searching the best methods. I'm trying to take an existing survey and place a developed plan on it.
  6. I'm looking for some help on importing a plot plan using a DWG file?
  7. I can see it in an elevation view I think but I can't select it, Terrain button is greyed out and not selectable. I was able to change it in a spec box but something is still amiss and I have not been able to find the handle
  8. I have a fully developed plan and I want to change the elevation of the house. I can seem to select the terrain or even see it's perimeter defined on any layer. It shows up as checked in the display options, ....what am I missing? lol
  9. Mark, After studying a bunch of ideas I really like the one you suggested above! Thank you
  10. Thank you, very much what I'm thinking...I was searching for some inspirational images and just came across a few that I'm going to sketch around.
  11. So this is kind of like a 'chicken or the egg' challenge, form following function. This interior design is what they want, putting an attractive roof on it that keeps snow and water out but looks attractive is the "trick" Hypothetically, how do I best, minimally alter the interior space to come up with an attractive roof that sheds properly?
  12. Thank you Mark, yes this is a work in progress, no there is no plans for a second floor other than some storage over the garage. Yes I have a lot of lattitude to adjust the plan. Mark these are good suggestions and what you suggest is similar to the roof that our program auto generates. This home will get plenty of snow so the original front gable idea is to keep snow away from the front entry and add a chandelier to the foyer.
  13. I'm looking for some ideas on changing this roof in the front of this house to keep out snow pockets while preserving the interior as much as possible.
  14. Thanks Joe, I like hearing how others are doing things as I'm operating on a laptop to two 32" inch monitors. It's working fine but I always like hearing what works better or for the different applications. I don't have anything in portrait mode but I want to try that soon.
  15. Hello, With the lower cost of larger monitors has anyone ditched the dual and triple monitors for using one large monitor?
  16. When I take an elevation camera view I have framing sticking up through the roof but it is not there in the orthographic view....? What would cause something like this where the plan is representing something different depending on view? GUERINNI-PLAN_April_8.2020.plan
  17. where did my windows go? HER.SAMP basement wall.pdf HER.SAMP 3.31.2020.pdf
  18. I still have not been able to find this door in any catalog,,,,does anyone have thoughts or know where I might find one?
  19. Thank you, I described that incorrectly, I'm looking for a 3'0" 6'8" exterior door for a garage that has just three lights at the top. I was able to download the ThermaTru door and going through that now.
  20. Can anyone recommend a budget garage door brand or model. I'm trying to find one in a manufacturer's catalog starting with ThermaTru?
  21. Sorry Rob, I don't understand. What is it's purpose? The screen shot was created prior to your suggestion but regardless I still can's seem to make it work and it's behavior being controlled by the Default dialog I think I have some box checked or unchecked.
