  1. The handle sizes are settable in preferences. The handle doesn't change size when you zoom. If the issue is that you are having trouble seeing it then changing the colors would probably be the better solution.

Thanks Doug,  never messed with it before,  OOB is 4,  no complaints on the OOB,  I  just bumped it up to 6 to see if I like it better.

Does any body know what the BUMPING/PUSHING FOR TYPE I MOVEMENT is about?  I just noticed this,  I believe this is new,  anybody know?

  2. ..........

Yes, there are different items not working correctly on the new Chieftalk. I bet I posted a half dozen times and the post would not go through. I would hit "post" then get the "flashing block" at the top of the screen and nothing else happened......

I thought it was only me,  I too have problems at times posting comments.....  starting to become a true waste of time.....

  3. Scott - was just looking at your first video and you said you don't know how to put 2 sinks in one cabinet.

I posted that above. (3rd post)

Hi DG,  yes,  now I understand,   sounds like a lot of work since i believe you will not only have a sink to deal with but also the hole for the sink.  So if you wanted to move it,  would would need not only the hole but the sink.

However the method that I eventually came to grips with was not much better.  Your method may be better.....  but maybe not,  won't you have one of the lower cabinets going through the sink....  you don't show the sink in place..... I think you will find that a cabinet will penetrate the sink......

  4. Yep, 3 seperate cabinets is the way I always do it , its usually how the cabinet guy would build it here anyway especially if the center section is a set of Drawers ,way easier to ship and install.

Of course,  that is the easy way,  but suppose the center of the sinks are aligned with the space between the doors and the drawers,  something I see all the time in as built conditions.

  5. I appreciate the help and the answer.  I re-opened the plans in x6 to see what you're referring to and then opened them in x5.  I definitely I liked the old way better when each open plan had it's own minimize, maximize, and close button. I have to wonder what purpose it served by changing it.  I'm sure I'll get over it, I always do.

I hear you,  not sure if I like it better or not either.  I think a lot of users liked the tab idea.....  I will adapt to the majority.

  6. aren't the handle settings adjustable in the preferences, somewhere with the selection color and such??? For some reason I am thinking you can assign a pixel count for selection handles to control size.  I will look into that...

I am sure you are correct Mike,  I don't mess with it because then the handles would be TOO BIG.  I just zoom in,  I suppose it could be made more user friendly.

  7. no idea what you mean by 2 vanities in 3 cabinets.

Actually I have no idea what I am talking about either,  maybe you can show us how you would do what the OP wants,  maybe post a simple plan so we can study it,  thanks.

I suppose I should of said double vanities in a triple face single cabinet......  we all know what the OP wants....  how would you do it?

  8. Maybe stupid question but here goes.  I opened 2 plans in X6 tiled vertically.  When I went to minimize one of the plans I see there is no minimize (-) just close (x).  Do I have to completely close the plan?  I do this frequently when moving things from one plan to another and minimize one when I need more or larger view and jump back and forth between plans.

    Thanks

No you don't have to minimize,  simply double click on title bar of plan you want to be full screen,  but I am sure you know that.....  I am sure I am missing what your true intention is.......  bottom line,  what ever you want to do,  I do not have a need for it..... not yet anyway......

  9. Be careful Scott ... I see you have a receding hairline.  If you keep screwing up your plans you'll look like me .... AND HAVE TO WHERE A HAT! :D

Dog  gone it  Curt,  I noticed the same thing,  but I think it is the reflection and the angle of the camera when the picture was taken.  My younger brothers have the receding hairline,  I am sure it is a misconception on your part,  please check the prescription for your glasses.

  10. attachicon.gifvanity.jpghow do I insert two Lavatories in a custom triple face vanity (SB962232)

I  would use one 72" wide base cabinet with triple face 34" high,  and then stack two 36" wide x 2" hi cabinets (each with sink) on top.  That would  give you a 36" hi cabinet.

Never thought of that until now,  but it should work.

hmmmmm......  I wonder if the structure of the base cabinet would show through the sinks.....  If that was so,  I would probably make the triple face cabinet 4" deep (to allow for a 3" deep toe kick,  line up face of top 36" wide cabs.....  I bet I  could do a 2. 5 hour video on this....... but I won't.....  save you guys the agony.

  11. .......This seemed simple enough till I looked at it in perspective floor overview. The pony wall went all wierd. ......

Here is a Dropbox link to the file.  https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/49042923/BOYD%20STATION%2003132014.zip

I have seen this recently,  I am getting fed up with constantly having to muddle my way thru this crap..... to fix it I deleted the foundation wall and drew another in it's place by dragging an existing wall.....  I have libraries disappearing,  nonsense like this and there was something else this morning that popped up which was a reoccurence of a previous bug......  I forgot what is was but I am assuming it will pop up again.

  12. But if you insist on inviting Perry over to your palatial manse,  I would ask him to use one of the other 13 bathrooms and i would swing the door the way you have it.......   for that particular design.

  13. I'm in a bit of a conundrum.

We have a powder room that opens off of the den and it has a pocket sliding door.  Naturally, it's open most of the time and the wife wants a hinged door so that it can be just slightly open when no one is in the powder room.

The problem is that the room is only 3'-6" x 7'-0" and with a 28" door swinging into the room it would be very difficult for Perry to go into the room and close the door.  I could swing the door out instead of in, but that doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

    What would you do?

I would go to Perry's house instead of inviting him to my house.  Besides,  his wife is a true chef.

  14. This is what I sent to tech support.

On a mac, I work on secondary monitor, I put library browser on primary monitor. If I go to my browser (safari) and back to CA, the library browser is gone. Not isolated to plan I am working on. Tried new OOB plan, same thing, library disappeared. Only way to get it back is to shut down CA and reopen.

I will try working on primary monitor and putting library on secondary monitor. Never noticed this until today with the new 6.2 update.

and then I sent this in......

I am now working on main monitor. If I go to browser and back to ca, browser is there. Better than before. But, but........ If I put library browser on second monitor, go to safari and back to ca, the library browser now relocates back to main monitor and will not stay on secondary monitor. I must again reposition library browser back to secondary monitor.

  15. Anybody losing there library browser?  On a mac,  two monitors,  I put library on second monitor,  and for some reason I am losing it when I go to a different app.

Prior to this experience,  the library browser would be very small and up in top left corner of second monitor,  and I would just resize it.  Now I don't see it.  I must quit CA and restart to get it back.

  16. I like the way the new "active defaults" work but i don't know if I'm missing something or if it still the case that you can't tie the layer to anno.  I can make the layer set switch when i select a certain anno but still doesn't seem that i can switch layer set and the anno can be tied to it to switch with it.  only switch to "active defaults" for anno when i go layer set switch first.

This goes back several versions when CA Decided that the anno set is king. ANNO set can set layer set but layer set can not set ANNO set. Makes sense, how could you ever vary the combination if this were not so.
