  1. So, when I regenerate the wall framing on this file it ads a 3rd top plate that cuts into the truss. This does the same thing. At the end of th day the section should produce this: Is this something acceptable to send support and have them figure it out?
  2. Not correct. Make the third floor the hight of the parapet and the roof goes to the inside material and raise or lower as needed.
  3. Yea, I had that, then did not. I have tried again. It has something to do with the floor settings of the upper floor and the ceiling settings of the floor below the roof trusses (I think) I don't know how to tell chief I'm using trusses in this situation.
  4. This has been a nightmare, but I have accomplished most of want I needed to do for a variance submission. It is a second story addition on an existing building. Not sure how to fix this, but the walls do not generate correctly. I have settings messed up somewhere and have tried a 3rd floor and other things. I think it might be the truss, but not sure. I have watched a bunch of videos and am just stuck.... 20-2052 600 Floyd - Copy.zip
  5. OK, then what do I do about my template plan I am using now, that has been a work in progress for years? I have all the "anno sets", layers, layer sets, etc set up. Can I import all that into a new template?
  6. This is the answer I have received from support. In my opinion, this is not something that I can wait until somebody decides to look at it for a possible future version. It took me almost 5 years to get comfortable even using this software to have the knowledge to start customizing it. I have been using "programs" for over 45 years and this is one of the most complicated pieces of software. Not only do I pay several thousand dollars a year for 2 licenses, the training hours, the hours I have spent in troubleshooting, and the hours customizing makes this piece of software very expensive. Yep, a mini tantrum on my part, just not real happy about this today!
  7. I did turn that into support but started looking further into my library. I had created these doors specifically to add to a "Doors, Existing" Layer, but in the library, they show as layer "Site Import" which I only use to put raw survey info. I spent a whole bunch of time trying to set things up to work smoother and just am not feeling the love for Chief this morning....
  8. Hopefully, this is correct... 20-2058 441 Leonardo Exist - Copy.plan exist-wall.calibz
  9. How do I export just one wall definition? If I put it in the plan it is wrong. But in the library it is good.
  10. WOW, this time it changed all the materials except drywall? Antique Glass? I did not even know that existed!
  11. I have been creating "Wall Definitions" for my user library because I want to be able to use the Description Field in the Wall Specification dbx (long descriptions for legend) This is my wall in the User Libray: However, when I try to use these walls I get a few issues It creates a new wall type. This makes the wall schedule a nightmare to clean up. It changes materials of the wall See below The goal here was to simplify, but it seems to be making this more complex and difficult. Any thoughts on what might be causing this.
  12. I have had on occasion to have to use different layouts on a project specifically when a site plan needs to be on a smaller sheet and it is a small hassle to re-enter all the info on a separate layout.
  13. Did not see this fix in the notes....?
  14. Would this be an hour macro or a very involved macro?
  15. Schedules will not total this field, in fact, I can only find where it totals square feet in a Room Schedule.
  16. I was hoping to somehow assign and a number of seats per symbol, i.e. Booth = 4 seats, 2 top table = 2 seats, barstool =1, corner booth = 6 seats, and then a schedule (or?) would populate as I design dining rooms for a restaurant. I currently do this in excel, but I would hope this could be done automatically with Chief.'' Seems I cannot figure out how to do that in a schedule. Is this possible??
  17. I have been getting organized and the majority of my work is renovations/additions. I have searched and I honestly do not understand the out of the box different layers Chief Uses for walls. So my question is if I create a layer, simply Walls, Existing, and put ALL existing walls on that layer, will there be any repercussions or issues with layers such as Normal, Exterior, Interior, etc or do I need to do Walls, Exterior-Existing, etc.? I would also like to have existing layers, for fixtures, doors, and windows.
  18. I would love to see an answer for this.....
  19. After further research, this error is occurring only when selecting user library folders that include Library Items I have created that have a Schedule of some kind in them. This issue only started upon updating to the newest version Build: 22.2.0.54x64.
