  1. I guess I’m not asking my question the right way. I do not ever touch or choose anything for type of plan view. Ever. I start a new plan and go. For whatever reason, some of my current plans have no drop down options. Others do. For no reason that I know of. I start a new plan the same way every time. I just happened to notice this issue because I was trying to do an overlay with the as-built version and remodeled version of a project. The as-built has no options for plan view. The remodeled plan does. And I don’t understand why they’d be different from each other.
  2. I edited my question. I am trying to figure out what happened since I have never needed to import plan views. Thanks!
  3. Is there a reason that one of my plans is stuck with "none" for Plan View? If I create a new plan right now, I have options, but for some reason that's not true with past plans I am referencing. Those plans give me no option to change from "none" to anything else. I am trying to figure out why I have no options on a particular plan, but I do on others. It always says "none" here with no drop down options. But on other plans I have the usual options.
  4. Hi.. Thanks for the help. It's been 5 weeks so I am not sure which sectional I was working with. But what you're describing is what I normally do with core catalog items that may not need a whole lot of adjustment. Looking back at my original post from August 12 and all the suggestions that were made, I think the Kravet sofa I was trying to modify simply wouldn't modify into exactly what I needed.
  5. Correct, It's not close enough.

  7. Yes, I have done that before with hard items like cabinets and wood furniture. Not as common with this type of piece. But an excellent suggestion, thank you!!
  8. Thank you very much for your time on this. I am working on the components, and will hopefully make it work. Thanks again!
  9. I have only found one video on stretch zones/planes, pertaining to furniture and other 3D symbols. Do you know of additional resources, preferably from x12 and later?
  10. I am using these sectional pieces. And trying to create this config at the moment. I will have to create other options for the client as well, so I am trying to perfect my hand at stretch zones and planes. There isn't a lot of info on that topic, in regard to editing 3D symbols.
  11. I need a variety of configurations for a sectional, for a client. If the stretch planes/zones werent so wonky, I would just use that.
  12. EXACTLY. So, are you saying that what I am trying to do can't be done?
  13. I am trying to modify this sectional sofa, in terms of size and proportion. I need to make it as close as possible to something my client saw at a store. And it has lots of config options, so I am trying to make it as realistic as possible to what she is looking at in a real store. And she wants to see a variety of options for this. None of the furniture in CA is exactly right. At the moment, I need to remove one of the sections of the sectional and resize a different section of it, and put it back together. I can do all of that when I edit it as a CAD block. But then I can't save my changes in a way that it shows up in my camera view. I checked all the layer sets too, to make sure I am not simply hiding my finished product from view. But the original sectional shows up fine. So I am somehow changing the sofa during the editing process, and making it incompatible for the camera view.
  14. Actually I looked at this video earlier today. It deals with architectural blocks. Hmmm....I am still plugging away at this. I know it's me, not the program.
  15. Thank you. I will view it right away!
  16. Its from the Manufacturer Catalogue: Kravet:Clemson
  17. I can't get it to the point that it becomes a symbol.
  18. It doesn't show up in the camera view. I am doing something wrong. I saved it in the library with a specific name. But when I pull it into the plan, after revisions, it still says "Cad Block 2" instead of the name I gave it. It is not behaving like a symbol and I can't figure out how to make it a symbol.
  19. Hello, and thanks for your help. Let me clarify. And yes I have updated to X13. 1. Choose sofa from library. 2. Edit the block because I have specific changes, not overall sizing to change. 3. New in x13 it takes me to a CAD Block window to make changes. 4. After changes and saving it, it only shows up in plan view. I don't know if I need to convert it back to a symbol or what.
  20. Hello. I need to edit a sofa from the manufacturer catalogue, and I am trying to edit the block, rather than resize the symbol with stretch planes. When I select it, I then go to the "edit cad block" icon on the bottom. I make my edits, and save it to the library, but it doesn't show up in the camera view. It is no longer a symbol at this point, so what am I doing wrong?
  21. I have been trying to get stretch planes/zones figured out for so long. It still seems cumbersome. Not sure what I am doing wrong. And yes I have watched the one video I can find on the topic, many, many times. (Side note, searching for "stretch zones" help yields no results and "stretch planes" only gets help for things other than furniture) I am trying to modify a sofa sectional, the Dane Sectional (end A and B, corner and armless sections) I want to remove the feet and bring the skirt lower to the ground. I have managed to create the zones that make the current feet disappear and keep the piece in the same location relative to the ground, which means they are floating. I can lower it, but I can't pull the top higher without the feet reappearing. I need to make the pieces taller, and bring them closer to the ground and make the feet disappear. 1. How do I treat the bounding box dimensions when I am making changes? 2. Can I resize one plane a couple different ways at a time? Assuming I can't, can I create a new symbol with my first changes and then make additional changes? 3. If creating the zones is a way to manipulate an area, why does the designated area show up with changes that I haven't made? It seems like I am designating a zone to be able to stretch, but it doesn't wait for me to decide what I want to do, it makes the changes based on the zone to be stretched. 4. When am I using the planes and not the zones? Should I make dimension changes in the furniture spec box BEFORE making changes in the symbol spec? Thank you!
  22. Thank you. Not understanding your path here. I don't want to waste your time, but if I could see what you did, as a zipped file plan, I can see the specific things you did. But again, I don't want to waste your time. Thanks for your help.
  23. Thank you for this. I am still missing something, and I can't figure out what that is.
  24. Thank you. Maybe I wasn't clear that the lowered ceiling room cuts into the bigger room, but extends back. Here is what happens when I do as suggested, in the first image. That ledge goes all the way to the back of the bedroom instead of stopping at the high wall. If I extend the high wall to get the ledge I want, I end up creating a second room as seen in second image. I have played around with ceiling planes too.
