    Thanks I realized for the sizing I have to choose the advanced options and manually input the size when I import the file.

    Many websites offer 3D resources for designers (see attached example). What would be the best file type to pick for importing 3D objects? I have tried various ones but have trouble with the scale and materials.

    You cannot move around in a 3D view. Only look around. That’s how it works

    This is not as simple as it used to be since Microsoft dropped “Photosynth”. There are some apps but they are clunky. I have been looking into Flickr360 and some other 360 hosts but not getting too far. Best option is still Chief Architect web site.     How could I toggle off/on so they aren't automatically present every time I send a page to layout if I don't want them for a particular project?

    I got this response from someone at Cheif Architect tech support: "We do not recommend working over a network as you can experience corruption issues when Dropbox runs a sync while you are working on the plan. "

    ditto Kevin; your dropbox folder is on your hard disk of the computer you saved it on. In Windows under users/dropbox. On a Mac look in your Finder window. Should still be there even if the Dropbox cloud pooped out

    Thanks for sharing this. I have a 1976 version of this book which i got in trade school back then. I still reference it once in a while to help me brainstorm.

    How can I assign gutters to some eaves but not others on same roof plane. I'm setting up existing for a reno. as you can see from the photos the dormer is on the same roof plan but has no gutters. Any hints?

    Thanks guys! "pull wall back" idea wasn't cooperating because one side of the wall is a 20' high room and the other side of the wall is divided into two floors. I cheated the system and created a super thin wall that meets in the centre of the two window. We can deal with it properly at the time of construction but for now I just have to develop the visual concept. Thanks again for your quick response!

    Question: is there any way to allow window to span across an intersecting wall? I have run into this a couple of times when drawing existing situations and now am actually trying to draw this for a commercial building.
