  1. You can set the Time Zone in your profile settings.
  2. Just requested a trial version. Had the option to download either the X7 Beta (32/64 Windows & Mac) or the X6 trial (32/64 Windows & Mac). They had different trial keys.
  3. I downloaded a log .pat file from the old forum some years ago that might work, or be helpful at least in looking over to compare to your own try? In the Define Material dialog, increase the scale to something like 10. LOG.zip
  4. You can download the free version of SketchUp, open the SKP, and save it as a Collada (.dae) file and import that in to the Mac version of Chief. It also looks like something you could do a Google image search for, create a material of the photo, and apply it as a "Stretch to Fit" material to a Polyline Solid.
  5. Chief doesn't support working on plans or layouts over a network, but there is an article on relocating to another computer that has a list of things you wouldn't want to miss. http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00001/
  6. I contacted Support as well and they said they'd put in a feature request, but for now I think I'll just go with the uppercase font that jcaffee linked since that seems like the easiest solution.
  7. Anyone have a recommendation for where I can find a blueprint font that only uses uppercase? Or maybe there's a better way to accomplish what I want. Camera labels come up with names like "Camera 1" and I want that to be "CAMERA 1" without futzing about with it. I can't find a way to force labels like this to be all caps using text styles. Am I missing something? I did find this post on the old forum, the description sounds like maybe what I want but for layout box labels, and the video link doesn't work anymore, can anyone elaborate? I've never used custom macros or Ruby with Chief. http://www.chieftalk.com/showthread.php?62560-Change-Macro-to-all-CAPS
  8. I think Wall Types vary between metric and imperial plans, but otherwise I think the different templates have the same wall types, just different ones set for the default exterior and interior. The best place to start would just be the default profile plan and then make a copy that you've added whatever other common wall types you need to it.
  9. Nope. Probably best to contact the company's support folks directly.
  10. Anyone out there using a software for generating cabinet cutlists that they would recommend? I don't suppose there's something that integrates with Chief well to make this easier?
  11. Rope lighting! Thank you! I knew I had seen information up there some time ago but LED wasn't coming up with anything useful as a search term and I couldn't think of any other words it was also known as. The suggestions from the old forum looked more like for tray ceilings than cabinets, but using a molding line with a completely emissivity material will probably work fine for what I need. Thanks again!
  12. Has anyone tried modeling this tape in Chief?
  13. Have you tried viewing the STL in a Viewer to see if you can notice anything missing? There's several available online as free downloads
