It looks like you have the 2nd floor room specified as an Attic room, which is a specialized roof type that doesn't allow roof generation. If you change your Room Type to Unspecified (or another basic Room Type), the roof will generate. I hope this helps!

Does changing your Synchronize with Cursor Preference change this behavior at all for you? This setting can be found by going to Edit> Preferences and going to the Edit panel on the left side. Here you will find a setting for Synchronize with Cursor. If this doesn't make any kind of change I would try a different mouse, if you have one on hand. If you're still experiencing the problem I would recommend contacting Technical Support through the Technical Support Center: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00717/using-the-technical-support-center.html

Thank you for bringing this to our attention! We've done some testing on our end and have confirmed that there is an ongoing issue with the NVidia 610.47 driver and the NVidia RTX 40 series. So far this seems to be specific to the NVidia RTX 40 series and we have not reproduced it on the 30 or 50 series. The current solution is to roll back to a previous April driver. If you would like assistance rolling back your driver please contact our Technical Support Team. Contact Support: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/#contact

@Chrisdutch89, it sounds like you may have used the Material Painter at some point to change material, which will override the material you have set in your Wall Type. You likely need to set your wall back to using its Default Material, which will then use the material that is set in your Wall Type. Here is an article that will walk you through the steps: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-03182/restoring-default-materials.html

Hello @Artisan_TH, The numbers you're seeing are actually coming from having a few layers turned on: Rooms, Standard Area Rooms, Interior Area Rooms, Interior Dimensions Turning these layers turned on/off will change how your room label displays. More information can be found in this Knowledge Base article: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00009/displaying-the-square-footage-or-area-of-a-room.html I hope this helps!

OBJECT LAYER NOT HIGHLIGHTED WHEN SELECTED
ChiefTylerL replied to gravattedesign's topic in General Q & A
Hello @gravattedesign, The Active Layer Display Options has a few options for it, one of those being "Show All Layers". When Show All Layers is enabled you will not get the filtering that you're used to. This can be controlled by clicking on the small gear icon at the bottom of the Active Layer Display Options and unchecking Show All Layers. I hope this helps!- 2 replies

How to re-dock the library and project browsers
ChiefTylerL replied to DesignTech's topic in General Q & A
Hello @DesignTech, You can reset the position of your side windows by going to Edit> Preferences (Chief Architect> Preferences if you're on a Mac), going to Reset Options, choosing Reset Side Windows, and then closing/opening the program. I hope this helps! -
Hello @GHArchitect, It looks like the siding layer of your wall is specified as Framing which is causing the program to build very small studs out of your siding material. To resolve this: 1. Open your Wall Specification 2. Go to the Wall Types panel and Define your Wall Type 3. With the siding layer selected uncheck the Framing checkbox below 4. Repeat this with your other wall layers and make sure that only your framing material is marked as Framing You should now see your siding again in your 3D views. If this doesn't seem to resolve the issue please feel free to send this into our Technical Support Center and we can have a deeper look: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00717/using-the-technical-support-center.html I hope this helps!

Hello @SimpleSpaces, It looks like that wall isn't set to follow its default top height, which is causing the framing to generate incorrectly. To fix this: 1. Select the problem wall and open its specification 2. Go to the Structure panel and check the box for Default Wall Top Height 3. Rebuild your wall framing I hope this helps!

Hello @RefinedRen, Based off of you screenshots this looks like an issue that was fixed with one of our program updates. I would guess that you have the most up to date version on your other systems, but not this system. You can check if an update is available by going to Help> Download Program Updates within the program. If you're already on the latest version I would recommended contacting our Technical Support team through the Technical Support Center. Using the Technical Support Center: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00717/using-the-technical-support-center.html I hope this helps!

Hello @SilverBar, The Temporary Dimensions can be toggled on/off by going to View> Temporary Dimensions. You will also find the Temporary Dimensions icon along the right side of your screen. I hope this helps!
-
If you are looking for a view like the one above, but while showing the dimensions and annotations, you can use the method that is covered in this Knowledge Base article. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-01142/creating-an-image-for-use-in-a-brochure-flyer-or-website.html

Aha, far away objects will cause similar behavior! This article will walk you through identifying and deleting far away objects: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00021/troubleshooting-small-or-blank-camera-overviews.html Sometimes these can be very very far away and can be tricky to delete (like not being able to be selected normally). If you're unable to delete this object following the resource above please submit a ticket through our Technical Support Center. Using the Technical Support Center: Technical Support Center: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00717/using-the-technical-support-center.html I hope this helps!

Hello @SteveTiek, I have seen this behavior before when the plan is very far from the plan's origin point. (x:0, y:0). This can typically be resolved by using the Edit Area (All Floors) tool to move your design back to 0,0. Here is a resource that will walk you through those steps: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-03124/troubleshooting-origin-error-messages.html If this doesn't seem to resolve the issue, or if you would like assistance, please contact us via the Technical Support Center: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00717/using-the-technical-support-center.html I hope this helps!

Hello @winterdd, This kind of design can be created by drawing a railing and marking it as No Room Definition. Here is a Knowledge Base article that will outline the process: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00919/placing-a-railing-in-a-doorway.html I hope this helps!
