I cant figure out how to fix the brick wall poking through the sheet rock as shown below.

What am I doing wrong?

Its funny, I have a coworker named David Porter.

I set it to show but it made no difference.

There is no room above the stairs. Is that the issue?

I'm working on a small apartment inside a metal building. I cannot figure out how to show the stairs on the second floor.

I tried adding a stairwell but because the room is open above it wont work.

Is there a way to make it work, or do I have to 2d it in?

How can I show the perspective view that isolate certain items.

For example I want a framing perspective view of only the roof rafters.

I've seen some pics of the is example plans but I'm not sure how to recreate it.

I knew the deck framing was the issue, but every time I tried to pull it away from the wall it would snap back. That's a neat trick with the room divider.

I'm having an issue where the deck is clipping the exterior wall. How do I fix this without messing up the deck framing I did manually?

Either your "Framing,Labels" layer is not turned on or you have not entered a rafter label.  Typically rafters are not individually labeled so that is not likely turned on by default but you can do it for special circumstances or personal preference.

My framing labels are turned on.

I would assume the callout and label be on the same layer. Is that not the case?

I'm having a strange issue that I can't figure out.

I created a framing schedule for my rafters. I only want to label them with a label but its not working.

If I select "use callout" they are labeled fine, but if I select "use label" nothing is displayed.

Am I missing a step?

I have a gap in the finish flooring at every doorway. How do I fix this?

I use a google drive through my google workspace and I couldn't be happier.

I installed the google drive for desktop which creates a mapped network drive, and I do all my work on there with zero issues.

Google drive keeps a backup of the file for 30 days or 100 versions which is accessible right from your right click menu. 

There is only one flaw. It doesn't alert you that a file is read only if someone else has it open. I usually give my partner a call to see if he's in a model before I start working on it.

I was able to clean up most of my issues.

@solver in my second picture why is the wall notching like that? This is where the existing roof meets the new wall of the second story.

Hello everyone!

I've been using CA for the past few months, so I'm solely self taught with the help of some videos. I'm absolutely loving it so far. So much so that I went from using a retired college's copy to purchasing X14.

I'm having a bit of a hard time with a recent project that I haven't been able to figure out. I'm doing a remodel that involves closing in a carport, adding a garage, and a second story on top of that.

I had someone help me with some of the modeling and now they aren't involved anymore, so I gotta figure this out myself.

My model was too big to upload, so I've put it in my google drive

I had to adjust the top floor level and now I have a gap between the finished floor elevation and the finished deck elevation. I adjusted the floor elevation of the deck, but all it did was move the handrail up.

This portion of wall where the existing meets the new has a raised section. How can I remove this and the siding?

I want the roof to extend out with exposed rafters over the deck. I'm not sure the best way to go about this.

Any help with these issues would be greatly appreciated!
