Hi there! Zoning is a real specialty of mine and I’m happy to help if I can. I definitely have dealt with essentially this exact setback distinction and they are quite different. I can help you straighten this out for your particular project if you want to reach out to me in a direct message or in this post with your plans and/or the municipality zoning code excerpt or any published documents such as a checklist where this is requested.

Electrical Load Calculations - Do you perform these?
tinadelllic replied to tinadelllic's topic in Tips & Techniques
Thanks for the input but you're speaking martian to me Let me know if you want to collaborate on creating something new for this.. I think other calculations like attic ventilation, crawlspace ventilation, natural ventilation and glazing calcs could be simplified with a step by step table in chief if load calculations could be.- 7 replies

Electrical Load Calculations - Do you perform these?
tinadelllic posted a topic in Tips & Techniques
For those of you that perform electrical load calculations or panel schedules for the electrical service on your projects, what resources have been helpful to you? Have you created any templates or worksheets for yourself to make this an easier process? Would you be interested in having a template in chief architect that another user has made? I'm curious who would be interested in sharing tips/tricks or anything that could be shared to used in chief architect. I have some things I've developed for my own use but not sure if others would find this useful or how many users incorporate this into their plans and services. Here's a few links I found really helpful: https://naffainc.com/x/CB2/Elect/EHtmFiles/Optional Method-Sizing Electrical Service.htm https://naffainc.com/x/CB2/Elect/EHtmFiles/Standard Method-Sizing Electrical Service.htm https://www.thespruce.com/calculating-subpanel-loads-1152758- 7 replies

For the slope of that lot from your photo I'd recommend using the elevation lines feature for inputting the terrain data. I'm pretty well-versed in creating terrain models in Chief so feel reach out to me if you have questions and I'll see if I can help. I really like it and got to explore it quite a bit with a recent commercial project. Check out the code illustrations, especially for calculations - some were surprisingly useful! Not sure I'll pay $30 a month though.

Hi all! I'd like to share some of my library content that I feel may be useful for others. These pieces are a mixed bag - some original work, but many are chief pieces that I modified or conveniently grouped. I plan to add more from my collection over time. Accessory Structure Question
tinadelllic replied to Joe_Carrick's topic in Building Codes and Compliance
How many steps with the split level? If there's a staircase you must have a 3-way switched light however there may be a certain number of steps in which that applies (ex: 4+ or more). -
Attic Ventelation Calculation?

Hi there, Perhaps this already exists which I'd love to be apart of... Otherwise, any interest in forming a peer review group specifically for plans prepared for building department submittal or have been returned with redline comments for corrections? I know that building departments vary, however it would be a great resource if a trusted circle could openly share for feedback and collaboration. Please share any thoughts! EDIT: Let me know if this isn't the place to share, but in spirit of the post here is a quick/simple comment response template for building department redlines if desired Kristina Morsman tinadelllic@icloud.com Chief X13 COMMENT_RESPONSE_TEMPLATE.docx
