  1. Video on same. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/191/controlling-the-display-of-below-grade-lines.html?playlist=139
  2. Used to be under general tab X14 Can't seem to find it in X15. Thanks
  3. ...and if the most commonly used wall types are labeled with a space or a period or? they will appear at the top of the list and you don't have to scroll through the myriad of wall types to get the most used types.
  4. Agreed and don't neglect to check many signatures, like the one here. I have a virtual dinosaur system and it works great for my purposes. Haven't upgraded in years and don't have Real Time Raytracing which I simply don't need or use and this older system keeps hanging in there.
  5. This might be a better choice as there are upgrade options. https://www.amazon.com/Desktop-i7-12700F-GeForce-Windows-G15CF-AB766/dp/B0BDTWQ2DW/ref=psdc_565098_t2_B0BTYBSRB8
  6. It all depends on what you need Chief to do on the machine? Occasional light use? They will all be fine. Intensive large project use? In that case and in my opinion each is a little bit lacking. Again for heavy use; The HP Victus has a great processor but way too small of an SSD and an only decent graphics card. The Strix has a bit slower CPU, decent sized SSD, and a decent graphics card too. The Lenovo has a small SSD as well, a decent graphics card and a fast processor. For cutting edge performance, which I personally don't need it's always the same. Fastest CPU, Fastest GPU, largest SSD drive, most memory (though anything over 32 MB memory is probably wasted. One thing that stands out to me is the amazing value each one represents. Under $1200 is a crazy good deal.
  7. Yeah, all of the little niggles are "no big deal" but all the little niggles add up into noggles. (A noggle is a large niggle ) And oh yeah I'm pretty sure the programmers didn't intend this behavior and would prefer a different behavior.
  8. After the program is closed and restarted the behavior is the same with both sections and elevations, zooming into a very very small portion of each view.
  9. This is pretty consistent when double clicking a section or elevation view from Laout.
  10. I've never seen a Chief upgrade or new release that doesn't follow this same MO. Super frustrating as the good folks at Chief are madly working away on features THEY think will benefit users (or sales) while users request over and over again features that get ignored and just never make it in to the program. I've grown used to it and don't fight it any longer and have decided to just enjoy the new features because that mentality is not going to change any time soon, or least hasn't in the 20 years I've used the program. It's also why I don't make feature requests as they mostly go ignored and then Chief decides that the library (for example) needs upgrading even though one would be hard pressed to find a single request from a user to do so. Not bitter about it all and just learned to accept any and all of the new features and enjoy the program.
  11. Thanks Rene, Yeah I figured that out - slowly lol. It did seem to behave differently upon reopening but I think when I get used to the new interface I'm going to like it!!
  12. Library browser updates start @ 1:20 https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/5539/what-s-new-in-x15-productivity-features.html?playlist=173

  14. I think that's exactly right but not used to the new features and not too sharp sometimes as well..
  15. I see what I was not doing after watching the video. We need to delete the first search term in order to make the new search term valid. And now it seems to be working as expected. And I see that exhaust fans was a subdirectory of Fans and hence showed up as expected but would not show up as long as bryant sconce was also selected. Horrible explanation but I get it now.
  16. Here's my experience and I posted a new thread.. But now it's not behaving as the video is showing so just a momentary glitch? Dunno.
  17. Can't seem to get it to behave or I'm just not getting how it's supposed to work.
  18. I'm not a fan either. It seems to take longer to find simple items and adds a couple features I don't need.
  19. One of the first suggestions ideas I had about the 3D cutaways. If they were shown as solids then the detailing would be epic with those 3D cutaway shots used in details. But alas, not happening.
