  1. I thought of that too and then got busy - let me look...
  2. I will also report this to support - but I have uploaded my template here. It is a blank sheet. There are no walls or objects on any floors - other than some text. SND_D_Residential Template.plan
  3. One thing I have learned is that once you open a new drawing from your template, it will have a growing list of unused walls that you can delete. But once you close and reopen that new drawing, all the deleted walls will be back - This was said as a joke. Really, Is there a place I can truly delete the walls I do not use? A though just came to me. As I continue to draw more drawings, and make wall changes per that unique drawing, is the system creating new/copied walls? So a few years from now I will have hundreds of wall copies? Cool!
  4. So I went into my template - made sure all my User Catalog was set to the right wall (no copies) and deleted all the rest. So I saved it with about 10 walls still in there - what seemed like the walls set by my Defaults. Closed it. Opened it and all the copies of the walls are back. So deleting all unused is not deleting all unused. My sheet is blank, so where are these walls being stored? And is there a way to truly delete them?
  5. Well, I tried just clicking the Delete All Unused and that seemed to clear it all up leaving only like 6 in the list. Then I noticed that my 6" foundation stem wall was not in the list (among others) so I opened my 6" stem wall and it was now in the list. Hmmm... So my Default walls (set up in my defaults) are all there, so I guess I can just delete the rest. And as I need/use them from the User Catalog, they are added to this list. So now I will go back into my template, set them up in my User Catalog and Delete All Unused and see how that works...
  6. Let me add this video to further explain what I am running into... Chief Architect Premier X12 - Chief Architect Premier X12.mp4
  7. I am noticing that the system continues to make copies of my wall types. I just spent 30 minutes going through and deleting all the duplicate walls in my main template. Feeling good, I started a new plan from the template and ready to go with everything cleaned up. I opened my exterior wall just to check, and notice that from the time I saved the main template to making a new drawing from the template (start new drawing), that the system made many copies of many of the walls. I have been told to just set my defaults in the Defaults and from there modify as I need. I have, however, found it very nice about Chief that I can have a number of walls all ready to go. In fact, it seems that is a nice feature about Chief that we can take advantage of and set up. It has worked very nicely for me and I have saved a lot of time. I expounded on that because my question is about why Chief is making duplicates of the walls? See my image. When I left my template, there were zero duplicates and all my walls were pointing to my main walls (not any _2 _3 ... were there) . Then I open this new drawing (from the template) and open my exterior wall type to see seven copies of my exterior wall - why is this happening? And now when I go back and open my default template it is filled with these copies - ugh!! Thank you, Steve
  8. I got everything back in place!! Thank you everyone!
  9. Yes finding that. I am finding that my roofs are not in their right positions.
  10. I will remember that for another job. Seems what I am trying is not working. I added the frieze boards manually and all looks fine. When I moved my roofs to the second floor and unchecked roofs over this room, it did work - my frieze board came back - but on one side. I need to keep moving but will remember this. Thank you!
  11. I did drop them 3" to expose my trim under the windows, that is the the case. So the fix would be to lower the garage space/ceiling 3" Thank you!
  12. Ah! Very good. Thank you so much! I will keep an eye on this. I have been used to moving things regardless of these spaces - and I do keep running into things like this.
  13. I did find that these two walls have the siding going up past the top plate 1 October, 2020 - Loom Recording (1).mp4

  15. Hello, I am trying to get my frieze boards to show up on two roofs. This is one of my more simple rooflines I have drawn, but even putting a new roof on is not working. Maybe a conflict with the wall, but I even drew over the wall with the end wall that has a frieze board. Thoughts? And as always, I very much appreciate all the help everyone has offered!! Plan link in next post... Thank you, Steve 1 October, 2020 - Loom Recording.mp4
  16. Yes, that is what I am finding. So it is from a corner/end that something changes.
  17. To change to a pony wall means I would need to select both walls in the dbx, adding a pony wall. Then I would need to set up my heights. I have my setting as Main layer and as it shows in the video, it works differently depending on if you start from the middle or end - which I think it messed up. So I will chalk this up as - it is what it is. It really is not a big deal - was just bringing it up as what I see is some program issue. I'm just saying that I will spend more time messing with these settings that are defaulted for most of what I draw and so this is really a small thing. Thank you.
  18. Here is what I find. If I place my pony wall in the center of the existing stem wall, it works as expected. Both main layers of the stem wall and the pony wall line up perfectly. If I start my pony wall on an end of the stem wall, it starts in a different place... 30 September, 2020 - Loom Recording (1).mp4
  19. I will try the align option - that may work fast. I generate me foundation wall from my main floor. For daylight and walkout, I draw over the wall with a pony wall all set up with the conc. and siding walls with my daylight height set perfectly. This works very nice. Typically I only have one or two walls like this so it is fast. This home just happened to have a number of walls and I noticed it will not remain lined up.
  20. Just wondering if this is normal or how things work in Chief. It would be nice to be able to just trace over my wall with the new wall and it be placed correctly. I guess I could try changing the walltype and see how that goes. No, I am using a pony wall that is all set up with heights. So done when I am done tracing over the original. 30 September, 2020 - Loom Recording.mp4
  21. I'm not sure if this is a bug, or if I am doing something wrong, but I cannot have these buttons (see image) open at the some time in two separate windows. When I click on a button on one window, the same button turns off on the other window.
  22. I will check fur wall option. Did not think of that
