  1. I tried this and all was good until I added a stairs opening. I made up this shadow molding to create the illusion of a gab. This is a matter of making up a room type with the Modern, Simple molding
  2. Just having some fun using the Modern, Simple molding with a baseboard and a small lighted molding...
  3. That's amazing! I thought this was a fairly new design idea.
  4. I am expanding on this a bit. I am using a molding that creates a shadow and illusion of a gap. I added a new Room Type and added this molding for modern homes Modern Base Library molding and material shadow color Modern Base.calibz Use the Modern, Simple molding Works nice for Constriction Docs and Rendering With a base board added...
  5. I got a nice google review this morning from a client who uploaded a black and white copy of a 3D image from the construction docs - so I spent 30 minutes copying and pasting some landscaping from another plan, crudely made my dirt landscape spaces next to the house, added a few trees for shadows, used my camera I include in this thread (from my template) and put an HDRi backdrop in. It took me 30 minutes. Could I fuss with more details, of course. As you update materials, save them as your defaults in your template. Each time you draw a new house you have things already in place within your template, including your camera(s). Drop in a backdrop, add your landscaping, bam!
  6. Reach out to Alaskan Son - He has a macro that does what you are talking about.
  7. I was updating my common section page and thought that others may be able to use this, modify it as you need or gain some ideas for other applications. I will also link a few other posts I made about how I connect my .plan file to my .layout file, because I have my common section page connected to my .Layout. https://my-plan.stevenyhofdesigns.com/v/bwUSgFLREujMf6gkzX5Y My Plan Template https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LNU_XIS7Y11GikHMvH593_V39oGPCV6f/view?usp=sharing My Layout Template https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tVBma2xozylzgklSQknH8FHAqqQE2FEV/view?usp=sharing Give me a +1 if you download and let me know your thoughts
  8. Now open the new material and change the Horizontal offset
  9. This is very good. The perspective is viewed as from a car driving by. Lavina, when viewed from the driveway or lawn, set the camera at about 5' from grade - currently you are standing about 8'ish high. More sky, less ground. Your window reflections are looking really good! As Jim said, move the sun around to help cast more shadow. This is not always the case depending on the look you are after, but shadows can help give more life to a more simple structure. Download PixPlant and start to create your own materials. Better materials as Michael mentioned.
  10. That is very nice to know. I did not know I could access my roof generated moldings. Thank you!
  11. I had put in a request for this during x16 beta. Lets hope that is one of the updates.
  12. Intrigued! Turn molding into wall?
  13. Thank you, Robert. I am typically very accurate with my roofs. But that miss match is defiantly off. I did copy and past my roof returns, so I guess I just compounded the issue. While this is a remodel, and the As-Built trim work is not that important, what I have learned is that using roof frieze moldings does not end the boards properly at the gable end of the returns, whereas using a poly molding did work well. I think this tread will be helpful for those running into trouble with their frieze boards, making them with auto roofs, manual roofs or with moldings. This is a simple model and auto roofs may have been the best approach. However, I do like the molding as in my elevation views, it will show more accurately. Existing Molding Polyline Frieze Boards Thank you all again for working on this.
  14. Thank you, Mark. I will remember this now as you did make that look pretty easy!
  15. Here is something that did work... https://my-plan.stevenyhofdesigns.com/v/34QQgTsVCu9f1YjLnZ8A Just disconnect the roof returns by 1/2"
  16. Here is what I did with moldings https://my-plan.stevenyhofdesigns.com/v/Xs3lejs6rcdkHEqAFEw2
  17. I appreciate all your help. Auto roofs do a nice job on the frieze, but not with the roofs the way I want. I'm going to just add a molding.
  18. Thank you, Steve. I will see what you did also and see where I made a mistake.
  19. I have not tried with auto roofs. Haven't used that in years. I know how to do it. Thank you!
  20. Here is a video showing what I am running into https://my-plan.stevenyhofdesigns.com/v/aOgdW7Sv2X5mhbYaDdwH
  21. Thank you, I did find that double roof on my plan, but deleting it did not solve it. I do see you have the frieze working on the front of the house, but the back is still off and also on the garage. I will check my returns to make sure I do not have more of them - thank you!
  22. Thank you fellows. I tried making my overhangs a little longer and shorter but that is not helping.
  23. When I hit the download button it downloads all the files
