  1. I'm just running into this myself - Anyone?
  2. Here is another video, a bit shorter where I show you step by step how I am connecting the default .plan to the default .layout https://www.loom.com/share/c0b7ffa04d504f4ab98fa45aa0e30169
  3. Thank you! I am using it and it is working great for me. Mind you that I created a new common section CAD Detail which I should not have done. This was an issue only with connecting my new default .layout to older, incomplete .plan files. I have a few to get through and then I will be fine. The few new jobs I have done work perfectly! The old plans I only need to reconnect to my old common section file which takes a second, so not a big deal. I may do a new short to the point video on how to make the .layout file.
  4. Here is a new short video of how I am using my default pre-set views layout moving forward https://www.loom.com/share/8b7e36d301e74d3f9cc86ebe0f5f55ac
  5. Setup Default Views from .plan to .layout I have found a way to set up and automate my default template .layout file using my default template .plan file. In the video below I step through how to set up your .layout so that all your common views are already in place on your default template .layout file. I use pre set Plan Views (with print ready layer sets) of each floor. (Set up in the default template) I use pre set Cross Sections (My four elevation views). (Set up in the default template) I use CAD Details to connect my common cross sections. (Set up in the default template) I wanted to find a way to set up my default .layout file so that I no longer needed to send layout views from my .plan file to the .layout file any longer as that seemed redundant for 95% of my drawings. Let me know your thoughts or if there are other ways to achieve the same automation. https://www.loom.com/share/ba8e075063df47f5b4229acb30f7b4a9 I realize that as I explain this that the listener has an understanding of Plan Views, the Default Plan and Layout Template. Once again if I do not make myself clear, I set this up once using my Default Plan Template and my Default Layout Template, so that all future drawings will have all the Sections and Plan Views set up in the Layout once you connect your current drawing to the layout when prompted. Thank you, Steve
  6. Ah! So I can just turn off the layer label - dah!
  7. I was wondering if there was a way to block the text - would you care to share the code? And where do I place so it is suppressed before I send to layout? I did this long ago, but it does not effect sending to layout. Thank you
  8. Thank you! I need them only for my sections and would like a specific font when I place the section in the layout. Thank you! I'm already doing this for my elevations because those are preset. + Automation is the key. I continue to remove these steps to speed up and create congruency from drawing to drawing.
  9. Hello, On my sections, (not my typical 4 elevations) I would like to change the font on the title text. Is this possible without changing any other text? This is coming from my CAD Details Thank you
  10. ok - going into a meeting now but will look into that shortly - thank you
  11. Hello, I'm trying to draw some ICF walls, how do I get rid of the sill plate and space? Thank you
  12. Both worked perfectly! I made my own Living Area some time ago, but did not think about adding the macro to it. Thank you Sir!
  13. When all the above fails - copy the floor with no Living Area and paste it into a new drawing. Then just create a text object in your original plan and enter the sq.ft. manually. Not cool, but works. Be mindful if you add or remove finished space, you need to update the text.
  14. Steve Nestor helped me the answer... It was as simple as grabbing the paper grips and moving it into the center
  15. See the video for more details. My front elevation moved off to the side - but it used to be in the center. https://www.loom.com/share/3c664f67494c447da453fd60a1a0c23a Thank you, Steve
  16. Hello, How do others deal with this issue of showing only the main wall layer, and also show the pony wall details? https://www.loom.com/share/065ec43bccca444189befa2716629d75 Thank you, Steve
  17. Thank you - I know how to make the molding now so I'm all set. But other may want them.
  18. Ah yes! You are right, the profile is probably only an inch thick (deep) - so I understand now. So I want to make my profile as close to the actual size to maintain the right perspective. Thank you!
  19. Hello, can someone help me understand how to make my lintel crown molding to extrude? Right now it is like 1" - it was drawn as a profile of like 4" by 6" tall. When I change the casing to be thicker, only the casing gets thicker. Not that I want it to, but trying to understand this. Thank you
  20. Yes, the SNester Wiggle! Works great! But I was hoping that bringing this to their attention they would take it to heart and look at their code and filter in the idea of other objects below the roof and fix this. Until that happen, I will continue using the "SNester Wiggle" Pronounced Snester Steve, I ran into another gable end siding and roof issues. I managed to make it work, but with lines that show in the 2D elevations. I may reach out to you on this so we can work through this together. Thank you, Steve
  21. So I submitted this topic to support and got this reply. So maybe windows or other objects need to be readjusted to help fix the roof... - Support Answer - Connor H Wednesday, Dec 16, 2020 - 02:54 PM PST Hi Steve, Thank you for attaching your plan and linking us to ChiefTalk. I found that one of the roofs was fixed after moving some of the windows. Anytime there is an object coming into conflict or intersection with the roof plane, the roof plane will automatically try to compensate for the object and build around it, so moving the windows to a new location (then back) and allowing the roof to automatically adjust seems to fix the problem. I also saw the issue with the auto roof return. If the option for auto roof returns is deselected or if it was drawn in manually and it is not going away as you want it to, sometimes adjusting it and readjusting it back will force some of the automatic features to readjust and fix the issue. Sometimes the software requires things to be manipulated a small amount and then manipulated back to the prior state manually to force the automatic features to readjust. Let me know if this helps.
