  1. In AutoCAD, I can grab an object or objects, pull my cursor with the object in tow, and type in a specific measurement (1in., 2ft. etc.) hit enter and the object snaps into the position in the direction I want. I understand the point to point command chief has, but that is not what I need because that doesn't allow me to move the object the way I just explained. To be specific: I am trying to move a complete second floor 1/2" to line up with the first floor(it is off) I do not want to move wall by wall into position. Also on a side note: Is there an offset command in chief? Any help would be great! Thanks...
  2. yes, I use corner boards but they work the corners only. They don't take a 90degree turn and then turn back again to return to the gable frieze board. I was able to copy the corner board and move that one over and adjust the size by stretching it up. That worked. I just figured this would be something that would auto-generate.
  3. How do I get my frieze board to auto-generate all the way around the bird boxes? (connecting the eave frieze to the gable frieze). It seems to always just stop which is not how it should look. Do I need to turn something on? I have looked everywhere.
  4. Well as I was waiting I did figure something out. I never "built a foundation" I just labeled rooms as Monolithic slab foundation. So I "built the foundation as monolithic slab and bam! There it was already dropping the garage floor 3.5". But not on the plan I sent, I will have a slab covered front porch dropped as well(same as garage) Do I need to start over as solver suggested? I can open Rm Spec for the porch and it shows stem wall at 4", Floor to SWT 0", SWT to ceiling at 109 1/8" What is SWT?
  5. I am working with a plan that will have a monolithic slab foundation. The garage floor will be all poured at the same time but dropped 3 1/2" below the main slab. How do I do this? Here is what I did. Drew the main floor plan(including the garage) build terrain perimeter, went room by room and in Rm Specification/Structure and checked the monolithic slab foundation box. In the garage, I did the same but the stem wall box is not on and will not let me adjust it. Am I approaching this wrong? I just got started so there is not much going on with this yet. Attach is the file. 2282.plan
  6. Thank you!!!! That was it! Not sure how that gets turned off
  7. Does anybody ever experience this? This is a physically-based render. For the life of me, I can't get it to reflect like a mirror. I had this problem once before and eventually, It just started to work in a Physically-based mode. I can't remember what I did to fix it.
  8. ok I will study that and work on this
  9. House1726 plan.plan Attached is the plan file House1726 plan.plan
  10. I am the worst at the stairs. Even the simple ones. Please help me with this issue. Notes are on the pictures. Thanks!
  11. no worries. I can't stand working with them but my boss is totally into me mastering them it seems.
  12. Ok, it worked. Question: Is there a way to adjust lighting during a walk-through like this as well? I noticed lights are off in other rooms in the background that I know are on and when the camera approaches those rooms they sometimes come on. I'd like them to stay on. I have had a tremendous time with lighting issue in Physically-based walk-throughs. Seems I can get it just right in a camera view but when I start recording none of the settings I set seem to hold. Physically-based walk-throughs must have a dbx somewhere thats different.
  13. Okay, I just checked. The only thing I see is a drop-down menu under Light Data/Light Sources that have Light 1(all views) Light 2(all views) and Light 3 (all views) I check light 3(all vies) and it changed nothing so I'm not sure what lingo I looking for under Light Sources...
  14. I keep running into this issue. Lights with more than one bulb and only one turn on. I have noticed the same thing with under-mount cabinet lights in my kitchens doing the same thing. In those cases, if I adjust one the other side of the under-mount kitchen lights turns off leaving me with half the lighting I need to be on. I gave up on under-mount cabinet lighting awhile back (too frustrating). This picture is an example of what I'm dealing with now. This happens 95% of the time in my bathroom sconces. No matter which way I move this camera that one bulb is the only one on. This I a Physically based view. It shows the same in a walk through
  15. I do not know how to do this. I have been trying to work with these molding polylines and I'm lost. The only place I can see it is in plan view. It disappears when I switch over to the camera view. Totally confused here. I'm not understanding if I start in plan view or camera view. Do I use molding polyline or 3d molding polyline (which only is allowed in plan view I noticed) and also it says to drag it along a surface? I was able to sort of drag a 3d molding polyline along what I thought was the edge of the cabinet but I had to convert it to a poly solid to find it in the camera view. It converted it to concrete, changed the profile I chose to square and was found underneath the house in space. So I'm lost...
  16. Where is that located? Open Help -- search runner. Thanks
  17. How do you get the carpet on rise and run only? Seems the rise is the same as the stringer, therefore, it gets carpeted as well...
  18. How do I get the crown to return into the face frame of the adjacent cabinet? Thanks
  19. Having an issue controlling the exterior lighting making my curtains glow unrealistically during a walkthrough video. I have tried many settings of sun angle, tilt and time of day while in physically-based mode. I CAN get it the way I like but when I record a walkthrough in Physically-based it ignores all my settings and I guess records it in default which completely is unproductive and destroys the look. The Walkthrough Option DBX is very limited. Is there an internal setting somewhere else I need to set so it controls my sunlight while recording walkthroughs? I have messed with generic sunlight and use backdrop lighting and I get the same results. Physically based walk.mp4
  20. Yes, I do. And I was able to build my own with a Kohler version I found. Sorry for the delayed response.
