I have a second license that I let exspire in 2020.
Can I renew that licence and keep it under the Perpetual (lifetime) software licenses?
Also,
I beleive I was paying 399 per year for the second license. Will it still be at the lower cost for the second licence? -

Line sizing is something I have not done well at. I like color but when you print black or grey you really need to have good line sizing.
I could you some help with that myself. Some ideas.

I personally don’t use the no material in the wall definition as I find it is more troublesome but what is the issue you are having with the method making the wall thickness wider and making sure the newell and rail is not set to use wall thickness?
So the dimesion that I was concerned about was actully in the right place. It needs to read to the outside rim and not the railing. Not sure what I was thinking but its right now.

I liked Joe's method I thought because I wanted to be able to get the dimension line to snap at the main layer, but it still doesn’t seem to work right.
I had less complications with his method also after I figured out that you must add the air gap to the interior layer instead of the exterior layer to get it to work right (go figure).
Im back to the thicker wall method and everything seems to be fine except for the dimension line.

Im so confused, this should not be that complicated.
All of these Idea's will work but they all casue other complications. -

I would just change the wall definition by adding an extra layer (air gap - no material) and setting that layer to be the edge of platform.
I'm pretty sure that works to offset the actual railing inside the deck edge.
Hello Joe
I checked the box as air gap but is there a way to get rid of the materials? Or should I just change it to an exterior materials so the wall draws correctly without having to reverse layers? -

Good job Larry! I like what you are trying to achieve.
I have been using the library for that purpose, but I like the idea of building the tool pallets. Wish I could be more help to you, but you have me interested. If I learn anything more, I will share it with you.

Question 1:
I cant figure out why the post appear to have some extra materials attached to them.
Question 2:
I would like to extend the deck past the post a few inches, not sure how to acheive that?

I definatley ask more questions then answer so Im very thank full also!
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! -
I was trying to go into the deck room and turn on moulding and use the verticall and horizontal setting for the base molding to put a molding on the outside.
I gave up becasue I ran out of time for now but was intrestead to see if that works. I might mess with it later when I have more time. For now I will add a joist.
Thank You Guy's -

Check to make sure your foundation is forming a room.
Go down to the foundation plan and try selecting the foundation room.
If you can't select a room, look for unjoined walls.
Thats the mistake I was making. I was trying to change the foundation from a room on the first level and I needed to be on the foundation leve and then it worked great.

I was looking through the room and deck specification dialog box and did not see a place where I can add a fascia board around the perimeter. I know that I can make one manually but was wondering if I’m missing something simple to have it added automatically.
Any help would be appreciated! -

I am having trouble following your post but I think this setting may help.
Can you reword your post so that it reads a bit clearer.
SIDE NOTE:
It would be nice if we had Audo Fill defaults. Unless we do and I just dont know how it works. -

I have a small commercial project with civil files created by a Civil Engineering firm on their title block. I would like to include their drawings on my sheet index on my title page for the entire project. I have created a blank page for each of the civil sheets in the project browser and checked the box "Include in Layout Page Table". I would like to be able to have these sheets listed but I don't want them to print. Is there a way to tell Chief to not print these sheets, but include them on the sheet index? I suppose the easiest fix is to just create a sheet index with text and manage it by hand, but hoping for an automated solution.
Thanks in advance.2150plan-3.layout
Make a mark (cad line) on the sheet so that it will show up in your index. Then when you go to print you just specify the sheets you want to print.

Next time consider using a molding polyline with a 3D molding symbol or a distribution path with a similar symbol or other library object. The distribution path in particular can even be exploded for further perfection. For example, you could use an architectural block consisting of 2 solids (one for the brick and one for the mortar). When you're nearly done you could explode the path and then go around perfecting all the corners and such.
Thank you Michael,
I will exsplore that a little later today. Sounds like something I need to get familiar with anyway.
