Closed the program, re started the program, then it started working again like it should.

Tried that too, no luck.

It was working fine, then Up until a few minutes ago I could drag a marquee and select all the objects...text, dimensions, lines etc and turn them into a block. Now all it will select are text objects. How do I get it to select all objects. In the Preferences dialog box Under Edit, the "select contained objects" is checked. I tried the others, but not luck. Thanks, Lane

Auto Story Pole Dimensions--Almost There, Not Quite Yet
EconBlueprints replied to EconBlueprints's topic in General Q & A
Thanks, I thought clicking again refreshed the screen and the dimensions. Lane -
So, I figured out how to move and get everything lined up, but my issue now is I am trying to get the story pole to locate the rough frame ceiling heights. In the Locate Elevations, I have "top Plate" checked. There is no "finish Ceiling" but the story pole keeps coming up with the ceiling location, not the top plate location. I cant seem to pull a new dimension line off the story pole (clicking and dragging the diamond). What am I doing wrong? Plan is attached. Thanks, Lane 2019-01-22_359_Ridgewood_Plan_File.plan

As is true with anything, if it can be messed up, I am the one to do it. Thanks, I think I have it now. Lane

I am trying to align the text and markers on the auto story pole dimensions. Its like squeezing a water balloon....if I move something here, everything else moves there. If I move it there, other items move here. Is there a way to unlock the story pole so everything moves independently and I can put things where I want them to go? Plan is attached. Thanks, Lane 2019-01-22_359_Ridgewood_Plan_File.plan

In Plan View, where the Electrical Label shows next to the item (instance 6" recessed ceiling fixture), how do I change the size of the text for the label? I see where I can change the size of the label marker (in this case a circle) but I would like to change the size of the text. The only place I can see where I can change the text size is in the Schedule. Thanks, Lane

Mick, yes I fixed that. Makes all the difference Lane

Yes, Center window is 4/10 x 4/6 Picture unit, Flankers are 2/0 x 4/6 DH. Bottom of Roof Fascia about 2" above top of window. Bottom about 6" below windows. No Brick veneer on bay window. I was playing around with increasing the depth of the window by 4" so the bricks on either side would not hit the flanker windows, as the brick sits proud of the wall sheathing. Lane

The Roof will be field built the unit comes with a plywood top. Framing will be 2x6, insulation will be high denisty foam. Bottom will be similar, 2x6 frame for window to sit on with two brackets supporting window. Insulation will be similar. I tried to raise the floor so there would be a 5.5" space below, but it does not seem to like that. I was able to do the roof. Lane

I am trying to put a bay window into a 6" stud wall with 4" brick veneer. This wants to be a real bay window....window only, no walls underneath, no floor underneath. The exterior wants to be just as it comes from the factory, ...no siding, no roof, nothing underneath. So far its been three hours of pure Chief Frustration, which I know we all experience almost every time we use Chief. Is there any to get a true bay window with Chief, Or do you have to do a Cad Elevation View and draw it manually? Thanks, Lane

I need to change the floors and ceilings on a two story building from 9-1/4" 2x10 floor joists with 3/4" sub-floor to 11-7/8" LVL floor joists with 3/4" sub-floor. This needs to be done on both the first and second floors Also, the ceiling heights need to go from 97 1/8" to 109 1/8" (rough framing) on both floors. First, I changed the framing in the build framing dialog box. That seems to have done what I want, I now have 11-7/8" I Joists for both floors. I can do the floor/ceiling height change by clicking on each room on each floor and making the change in the structure dialog box. Is there a quick method to select all the rooms on each floor and then do a single ceiling height/floor height that would apply to all rooms on that floor?

I checked for "layout table" in the help box, but the term does not show up. My layout is created with each page numbered, i.e. A-1, A-2, E-1, E-2, etc. Each page has a title. How do I generate an Index table from the page information boxes? Thanks, Lane

Displaying Quadrant Bearing Lines Incorrectly
EconBlueprints replied to EconBlueprints's topic in General Q & A
Thanks! There is always another button! -
I am doing a plot plan. Step #1 was to place the North Pointer. Step # 2 Was to open the North Pointer and input the bearing info. next, I began to draw the lines This is a simple rectangular lot. All lines are drawn, and the plot closes. The problem is with displaying the angle and distance on those lines. When I open any given line, In the Line Specification dialog box the "start point" is selected. Under the Length/Angle box, it shows the line information correctly for both distance and quadrant bearing. (in this case 26' for length, N50o,5' 2"E So far, so good? The Layer looks correct...Dimensions, Plot Plan. Under the Line Style, "Show Length" is selected and "Show Angle" Next, opening the "Number Style" , the "Decimal Feet" is selected and "Quadrant Bearings" Is selected. The plot plan does display the correct distance for the lines, however the angles are not displayed as quadrant bearings. For instance the line which is 26' for length, N50o,5' 2"E, shows 26' for the length, but the angle is displayed as 24d 14' 58". How do I get it to display the actual quadrant bearing of N50d, 5', 2E (as it shows in the line specification dialog box)? I have run out of boxes to check and I thought it would display correctly with the boxes that are checked. By the way, I have toggled the "all angles" and reverse angle" buttons on and off and nothing will change. The plan is attached, and the plot plan is in the Cad section as "Site Plan" Thanks, Lane 2018-12-2018-With_Front_Door_For_Room_1.plan

I just had to re-install Chief. Now, when I build the foundation by deriving it from the first floor, the outside of the foundation wall lines up with the inside of the first floor exterior walls instead of the outside of the first floor exterior walls. I have the button checked for align to exterior of walls. What am I missing.?
