  1. Hi Gerry, thanks for the post, was the plan file created in X7, it won't open in my version of X6 (I think I have the latest update X6), we have X7, but I haven't loaded it on this comp yet, the boss wants to hold off until our contractors have upgraded. Joe, re. post #17, I think the overlap is about 20mm, that probably isn't so critical for us to show, if we can just show the number and leaf of widths, the framemakers know what to allow. or is this critical for the macro to work Thanks
  2. Hi Joe, sorry, I missed post #17, was trying to reply but got sidetracked, exterior doors and windows we label differently - just height / width, auto labels are good already, only applicable for interior doors Thanks,
  3. It might be a bit beyond me - I think I can see the theory - to use one macro for all interior doors, the macro would have to check for door type and number of leafs, but the code writing is beyond me, I have progressed from excel to visual studio, but I don't have the time or energy to try to get my head around ruby... We would be willing to pay someone if they could write the macro for us... just a macro to show number of leafs and leaf width for all types interior doors (eg. 2/710 or 3/810 format) I have just done a stint on ArchiCAD - I assumed it would be much better than Chief, for all the raves it gets here, and the price difference, but all it has done is given me more respect for Chief, the few things that were bugging me (mainly just windows and doors now) I can live with until improved, there were lots of things with ArCAD and AuCAD LT that bugged me even more...
  4. I just checked - if a 4m wide slider has 4 panels, it shows as 2/2000 with 3 panel, it shows as 1/4000 this is similar as bifold, double bifold shows as 2/2000 (no option for three panel) ideally, we need to show the number and leaf width of all panels (4/1000), if can't do with a macro, then we need to enter the label manually, this is ok, just more room for error - if someone just quickly changes the door size, they might miss also changing the label... again - no real biggie, but auto for this type of stuff is much better... 5. Yeah we have just been leaving the %width% label for all interior doors, but the frame makers want us to show the door leaf width, which is the standard here.. (eg. 810 for single leaf - 2/810 for double - 3/810 for triple etc. ) bit reluctant to enter manual labels, as we have 6 designers and just makes for more potential errors with manual labels an example is with the sliders 2/810 leafs wont = a 1620 door - as leafs overlap each other its only a small issue, but would be good to have auto labels... we will def. use the macro Gerry supplied, now only internal sliders we will have to enter manual labels
  6. Yeah, I just realised, the macro you provided, which is excellent, works with hinged and pocket doors - also bifold sort of, but not sliders.... interesting stuff..
  7. ok, here's one more - is there any way (for sliders) to add to the equation - if is triple door - if is quadruple door... again, thanks for your time with it
  8. Hi Gerry, don't worry, I see now I cn just import into MM - works perfectly - excellent stuff - thanks
  9. Hi Gerry, that is really great , thanks, I have opened it with JSON editor online, and tried a couple of ways to copy and paste into MM, it is showing an evaluation error, and greyed out when try to insert in label DBX, sorry to bother you with this, could you post a screenshot of how it should read in MM , or post a plan file with it in, thanks for your time with this
  10. Thanks, I tried things like %width/2%, but that doesn't seem to work, when you say - just divide by two - is there an easy macro for this that can be entered into the label DBX I have had a small play with Ruby, but I didn't have much time to continue with it , as have not yet found much use that suits us
  11. Hi All, Does anyone know if there is a macro that could be inserted into the door label DBX For doors with multiple leafs, we would like to show the labels as: number of leafs / leaf width eg. a double door 1620 width, to show as 2/810 (or similar - 2 - 810 or 2 x 810...etc) does anyone know if this is possible with X6. Thanks, Tim Grindlay X6 NZ
  12. We have been having this problem as well, It hadn't affected me much but had affected other people in the office, then today I opened a plan file that I had been working on a few days ago, and none of the work had saved, it showed the plan file latest saved at 1.39pm, but in the auto archives I found a file that was 5.19pm, very odd... so the archive file was a few hours more recent than the plan file... I hit save constantly when I am working, and make sure I hit save before closing any window...
  13. No sills, I went to layer display options and turned off everything except windows, walls normal, and walls main layer only, then went to the window DBX and pretty much turned everything off, and on, tried unrecessing, all to no avail, but I don't think it is an issue with the plan file, as it is happening in other plans...
  14. Yeah, I just had a look without the windows recessed, it is the same, I don't think it is plan specific, as we checked another plan and it is the same, it was the same with X3, except X3 had the side lines as shown in the attachments above, that was ok, as it at least defined the full extent of the window, these lines just look a bit odd by themselves... seems to be any window type, mulled or not, but not doors...
  15. Hi, this seems to be related to the above posts, see attached image, showing windows and doors recessed to main layer in brick veneer walls (90mm main layer - 40mm cavity, and 70mm brick). the walls are showing main layer only, there is a line showing the extent of the windows, at the exterior where the wall layer is turned off, (not showing on doors though)... I had a look on X3, it also shows the side lines as shown in above attachments... does anyone know of any way to remove these lines.. they are quite untidy when viewing entire plan on layout, Thanks for any assistance, Tim Grindlay NZ
  16. I use RasterVect, I had a trial of another one that was better (can't remember the name), but quite expensive, have had RasterVect for a few years and it generally works ok, and not too expensive... Tim Grindlay NZ
  17. Thanks for the reply, I will copy that to the other guys, I start working from their office next week, so we can keep better tabs on it. Tim Grindlay NZ
  18. Has this issue been resolved, I have just started using X6, the license is owned by a larger company, they have had problems with saving a file, then when reopening, the latest changes have not been saved, I am pretty sure they are saving to a network .... (they phoned me again this afternoon to see if I had found time to look into yet)... I am pretty sure I had this same problem the other day... only saving to my PC hard drive... I have reset my autosave in preferences from every 5 minutes to every 1 minute, but have not used X6 enough to see if this helps or if it is a common occurrence... I checked for updates but got the message saying I had the latest version... Thanks, Tim Grindlay NZ
  19. I was using the profilem template already loaded into Chief, and had imported my own anno sets into that plan, I have since tried using my own plan template, and some other plan files that I have been working on, It seems to work fine now, thanks for the help. Tim Grindlay New Zealand.
  20. Hi All, I am just starting using X6, when I send a view to a layout, I send it from a specific anno set, (and can open layout box and check / set current anno set), but when I double click the layout box and go back to plan view, it takes me back to the anno set the view was sent from, but just seems to choose random layers, I am doing something incorrect here ?, I did a quick forum search, but have not seen any mention of this, Thanks for any assistance, Tim Grindlay New Zealand
