I had this very issue just the other day. Turned out to be that I had TWO doorways in the same location.

With your layout open, select Tools, Layout, Referenced Plan Files...

Yes, it's helpful. I just tried overlapping, not creating a gap. Thanks!

Dermot, thanks for the feedback. Greatly appreciated!

Yes, manual/custom countertops are the better way to do it.
However, with automatic countertops, I was able to successfully get the taller cabinet to overhang in the back by overlapping the back of one the cabinets just 1/8".
-
I know, easy peasy on that one extending the overhang. Drag the taller cabinet away from the lower and then back again and the overhang goes away and it doesn't want to overhang again. I don't know how I got it to overhang in the first place.
-
Two different height cabinets back to back with taller cabinet countertop overhanging off the back over the lower.
Using automatic countertops, I have accomplished this before in a test plan (attached) but I can't seem to get the upper countertop to overhang the lower in my final plan. There must be a secret of forcing the overhang. Now I try it in my test plan and can't reproduce the success. The right cabinets are what I am attempting to do.
Any suggestions? I may answer myself by just using custom countertops.
Thanks!

Thanks folks! Working on a small plan now using only Custom Countertops.

The Automatic Counter Top only "sends" the Front Overhang to the ML ( 24"w x 25.5"d )
The Custom Counter Top Sends ALL overhangs to the ML (27" w x 27"d)

aha! That explains the areas I was getting in the ML while changing different overhangs in the Automatic Counter Top. Thanks guys!

Thanks, I submitted an online support case. @MarkMc

Anyone using the area calculated in the material list for automatic cabinet countertops? Why does calculate differently than the custom countertop.
See my example plan file...
Thanks.

Am I missing something about the 3D viewer? I can export a plan with the three perspective overviews:
Perspective Full Overview
Perspective Floor Overview
Perspective Framing Overview
But when viewed in the 3D viewer, the Floor and Framing Overviews appear just like the Full Overview.

Just a quick example plan attached....I didn't make it exact...but maybe you can look at what I did with the roof planes and learn what to do to make your plan work.
Here is my example plan: Fix Plan 01.zipHere is a pic of my example plan:
Thanks Steve, but I am still on X11. The photo seems to what I am attempting to achieve and yes, I have a solution for the problem area. Thanks.

Many thanks for all of your replies. I will proceed with manual roof planes.
Thanks.

Attempting a triple gable look that a client likes. Is there a simple way to achieve this look? Here is my stab at it. I just can't seem to get the middle gable reversed without a bunch of manual roof planes. Suggestions appreciated.
Thanks...

Thanks! I sure don't remember doing that.

What's got this single roof plane locked at 10 pitch. House is to be 7 pitch, but whatever pitch is set to build roof planes, this single roof plane always stays locked at 10 pitch.

Any specific specifications needed for my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745 to support a TCL 4K monitor?

Thank you!

I've been using a 28" monitor for the longest time. Reading this thread has me wanting to upgrade to something larger. In the past when searching for a monitor, one of the key factors was dot pitch or pixel pitch and I don't see any mention of that with these large monitors/TVs. Is it not a concern with the latest technology? Also, I seem to recall seeing a thread which shows photos of CA users with their office setup showing the monitors in use. Anyone know where it is or could some of you post some photos of your large monitors/TVs in use? Thanks!

Brick Ledge, Garage curb
in General Q & A

I am changing some default settings to start a new plan and I don't know where the settings are to create a garage curb that extends past the interior wall. Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.
