Custom dishwasher symbols not inserting into cabinets
Evolution replied to YoderW's topic in General Q & A
Is the "stretch plain" available? Did you create the symbol in CA? Have you done a search on the Forum. I remember seeing a thread similar (not a dishwasher) at some time on the forum. -
You might try making a room polyline from the Glassed in room you created, then convert it to a terrain feature as far as 1. Ensure there is fall on the floor etc.Using the make room polyline and converting it to a terrain feature, I would possibly make a layer specific to the "garden room" and turn off unnecessary items (if there are any) that you don't wish to show. This is the simplest in my mind. Notes as needed. 2. I think that can be handled by noting it on the floor plan, but you can do a section through the room, do a cad detail from view and then add any special features. 3. That too can be done by changing the material of the terrain feature to a stone or pebble texture from the Library 4. Use the library to find the items you wish to place. Using poly solids you can add borders, edging?, vary pathways etc. (I believe). I'd like think this is the best more direct way, but Hopefully the Guru's will jump in and give you an even better idea or even more simpler way to do it?

You should be able to do the Pony Wall with glass, and set the height of the lower half to 3", ok

Billy, it would be best if you post the plan (take it from me) or you'll just keep getting "best guesses" and aside from it taking the answerer away from their work, (not being mean) it is a waste of their time, and yours if you really want a good answer, (and quicker in most cases) post the plan.

Not sure why your folder doesn't look like mine. I opened X10 and did the search for River Rock. One of the folders is the CA X10 folder and it has three basic. Don't know how many more you'll find in CA X10. I looked in my X11 has the same folder. Maybe one of the real CA guru's will jump in and offer advice. Sorry I can't help more. Use the Link Eric (Solver) posted and see if you find what you need. One of the manufacturer's catalogs I previously downloaded (Boral) has a number of Stone / Pebble look textures under "Expose". If you go to the CA 3D Library and search for boral, down load their catalog then open your library browser, >Manufacturer Catalogs>Expose and take a look at those textures?

Maybe "its" in a catalogue? Which It? The Border? I don't think there is any available in CA X10 library, but you can make it. I assume you have the planter bed laid out? in Plan use Terrain feature tool, draw a Spline retaining wall. Open the DBX set the height, change the material to something close to what you want to achieve. See if that works for you or at least gets you close.

The River Rock in X10 Library doesn't work for what you are trying to do?

Fantastic Video Steve! (I'll have to watch it a gazillion times) to save to my memory.

Impossible to know what you are doing wrong when we have no idea since we don't have anything to look at (render or plan file). If you do decide to post the plan file, be sure to save and close completely. If the plan file is too large, you can zip it and post usually works.

Not sure why you cannot select and change default. Are you in your template plan or opened in a new plan? Either way it should only be necessary for you to go to your default settings>Floors and Rooms>Edit>Current floor>Moldings and change it there. If you change it in your template plan, then each time you start a new plan using that template it should remain as you set it. Perhaps if you posted the plan you're having this issue with you will get a good answer?

Jim what can you not find? The edging is in the Landscape Accents bonus Catalog you have to down load. Or are you speaking of the tutorial itself? How did you locate what you show in the capture?

If you are familiar with the stair tool, you will draw the stairs down from the stoop the way you would draw them from a deck. (See this help: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00755/drawing-stairs-down-from-a-deck-or-porch.html ) Once you have the rise and run the way you want it, you open the stair dbx and change your materials to concrete.
-
The only time I've had that happen was when my Video driver was out of date.

When you open X11 (if you haven't already updated) you should get the usual message about a newer version (update of X11), at least I did. If not go to your digital locker and go from there.

I always save these types of images as a material and then do what David James said. A menu will open for you to search for the file, and you can load it from there. In case you're not familiar with the how to, check out this KB: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00767/creating-a-new-material.html

Modifying DWG file someone else created

Check this help file out : https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00170/using-cad-to-walls-from-an-imported-dwg-dxf.html -
So, Mick, are we supposed to get a message (after we update the catalogues) telling us update complete? I updated and afterwards checked a couple of catalogues I know there have been changes in, but it doesn't appear to have changed. (EDIT) 2 hours later (I don't know why it took that long probably all the content) I had a message pop up showing all the catalogues that had been updated.
-
Mick, funny thing though, it only happens occasionally not every time I have opened a .plan file directly from the forum, and I haven't been doing anything special with any of them when I receive the message asking what I want to do I usually just select open (instead of saving as to my desk top). And it only started happening since X11 for me. Since tech support couldn't duplicate it and suggested I try opening with a different browser I took their suggestion for any file that gives me the same error message.
-
Steve, I was opening another plan today from the Forum and bang same error message. But this time I closed it, then clicked on the plan file, and when I went to open the plan file and the program asked if I wanted to open or save it, I saved it to my computer, then opened it in chief and this time I didn't get the error message.

This sounds like a post you need to move over to Seeking Services.

So, Joe: I have a potential client (not made their mind up) but I'm not drawing yet until they decide if they are going one story w/basement or two-story w/basement. But either way, when I do start the drawing, I should start the ground level (their 1st floor) on level 2 of the drawing? Basement would then be level 1, and level 0 is foundation, correct?

CA X11 premier should work just fine for your needs. CA has a lot of very useful tools for that.

Brian, did you set up your ceiling height for the first floor of 108" by "Edit>Default Settings>Floor 1 Defaults" or did you do it room by room.
