  1. It will slow your computer down if chief does.
  2. You may use watercolor. Settings attached:
  3. I'm hoping that one day Chief will be able to render like this, Off to bed, folks. already 4:38AM here.
  4. There have been topics exactly like this, about Lumion (and other rendering engines) in the past started by the other users of Chief long before I purchased a copy. As a professional renderer, I found it interesting. I enjoyed every thread about it. We didn't tell the posters things the way these two are saying now. Respect begets.
  5. Here's the Bistro scene rendered via a preset in L8. Credit goes to Open Research Content Archive (ORCA) for the model. Hope Chief would get inspired by developing similar rendering engine so we wouldn't go thru the usual raytrace
  6. Still used a preset, partially. Tweaked the Sun (direction), Color Correction (environment) and the Depth of Field (for the focal blur)
  7. Honestly, I'm not convinced of his method. Won't recommend it to new users. Please elaborate.
  8. Lumion is not even a ray tracer to start with,.
  9. Sure Please post the plan. Save the camera view as well.
  10. They are all good but I'll recommend Bob Shofner, (Basketballman)
  11. Here you are again. Didn't you read about the custom effect I mentioned? Why did you not picked this exterior which is also on their website? Are you questioning my interigity or Lumion's?
  12. I must admit, this topic shouldn't be in the Tips & Techniques...
  13. I contributed a lot to the tutorials...Isn't it enough?
  14. Johnny, it's safe to say that it is. Lumion almost completely overhauled the Effects interface for ease of use, especially for the new users. Attached is the introduction to the new Rendering Styles, click a style and you are ready go., no need to adjust anything, this is most beneficial to new users. Note: Common Style is the old interface. In the sample scenes below, I used Daytime Style for both Exterior and Interior. What you see in the Teaser is really what you'll get. The third interior render is Overcast, (sun brightness=0)
  15. Well, that old adage is old. https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/blog/ue4-is-free
  16. Scott, This is for 7 but I Think you can also find tutorials for 6.
  17. Do you know of way to take a photo of the adjacent home(s) Easily done with still images but not if you are going for a flythrough You may first try it in chief before importing to Lumion.
  18. I never do post pro with Lumion and very rarely with Chief renders. I have prepared a quick no voice-over workflow video of the image below... just for you.
  19. Lumion Pro is about $3400 while Unreal is free,
  20. Yes, It's wise to wait... I cannot, they already gave my L8 badge
