Hello all,
My office may be looking into having some renders done on some of the homes we've drawn up in Chief so far, the render is very basic, look at the link for samples that were probably done in PS.
https://www.gjgardner.com/clovis-madera-county-ne-fresno-county-home-builders/home-plans
Currently my plans don't have a terrain or landscape as we only do construction documents, the site plan it's only 2d. (we would not need to model the actual site, just enough terrain to do the view).
And just like the post above, I need to mention that the office is looking for a "quote" not hourly, if we send 1 home what the cost will be for it, if we send you 10 what it will be for those and so on.
3Those are my renderings! well, mostly. They are not done in PS. Greg Gardner is both an FB friend and client...

Jintu,
From this post. I too was shocked to read it. Please tell me I miss Read it?
You misunderstood what I said re: "PBR is getting there, Lumion is not as good as it is now either" ( I should have said "was")
Meaning early versions of Lumion started similarly like our PBR now, Lumion is not that good then unlike today.
PBR 2 will be better than PBR 1 (I hope), In the sense that Lumion 8 is much better than all the previous versions combined.

I know Jintu commented that Lumion may not be up with Chief now that Chief has PBR, and that has elevated the product,
Where did you get this?

Excellent, Jintu! You do such great work. Were all of the trees and vegetation generated by Lumion? I am clueless in this area.
Yes, they are all native to Lumion

Hey Jintu! Now that you've had X10 for awhile how does the PBR compare to Lumion? Still quite a distance or is CA closing the gap?
PBR is getting there, Lumion is not as good as it is now either,,,
BTW, PBR exterior isn't there yet.

Hello Nintu,
No I'm not a renderer. I produce construction documents with CA. I've been using it for almost 21 years. I just started doing more exterior renders for 1 builder I draw for that has about 8-9 plans they build over and over. I don't even use the ray trace function as it takes too long on my computer.
Hi J,
Did you see the teaser for X10? There is a new rendering technique called Physically-Based Rendering Technique but I like to call it PB Real-Time, Rendering time is less than a second, so much like the Standard Tendering Technique but with a Lumion-like quality...
You need to upgrade,,, or renew your SSA to be able to beta test X10.

Jintu,
Do you use Lumion 8 or Lumion 8 Pro? I have seen the comparison list between versions. For strictly CA models (mainly exteriors) is the Pro version necessary or just a good thing to have over the regular version?
Thanks for your time. In regards to other conflicts further up this thread my opinion is if you don't want to read it........why are you reading it?
I'm using the Lumion 8 Pro version.
The standard Lumion is as if you are still using version 3 or 4. and if you are used to using Thea or Vray you will be dissatisfied.
Anyway, choosing your version depends upon your market. Are you a professional renderer? If so, Pick the Pro.

It can be done using custom symbols for the tile which would then be applied to a distribution region. I've done it and it works fairly well as long as the model isn't to big.
I saw it on the old forum.

It will slow your computer down if chief does.

Now, about the file. I will first post the Collada file. Any special requirements? Thanks,
Just Zip it and we are good to go.

There have been topics exactly like this, about Lumion (and other rendering engines) in the past started by the other users of Chief long before I purchased a copy.
As a professional renderer, I found it interesting. I enjoyed every thread about it. We didn't tell the posters things the way these two are saying now. Respect begets.

Much more impressive, I'm certain what we all wish to know is was when you choose custom what steps were involved to get it to that level of quality.
Still used a preset, partially. Tweaked the Sun (direction), Color Correction (environment) and the Depth of Field (for the focal blur)
Let's PBR

These are fine PBRs!
