  1. Talking to yourself sometimes does solve the problem. But most times this forum saves me a lot of time by leaning on the experience of the other pros. Thanks for your help.
  2. FIXED, this plan has a foundation level room. front stoop. This room has a slab above it to create the front stoop floor. main floor shows this as an exterior room. I checked the dbx for no ceiling and no roof above this room. soffit magically appeared. wham.
  3. by toggling the dbx for ceiling and roof on the two flat roofs I can get different amounts of soffit materials. But I have not been able to get a soffit material on that section without extending the roof plane past front wall of home.
  4. looks like I fixed the soffit issue. Solution, extend soffit nearly to the street and you get a material applied. JK, looks like the flat roof room on second story which has dbx no roof or ceiling above was eliminating the soffit material on the rake soffit.
  5. further research I noticed the soffit stops in line with the garage / mudroom wall which has "no roof / clg". also we have a flat roof room above the owners suite with the same call-outs. Maybe I have dbx checked that is conflicting with the 3rd floor or attic level roof overhang. thoughts
  6. vector view image of rear of home, no issue
  7. in the above image I set the soffit to brushed aluminum.
  8. the other faces show the soffit? they must have a material assigned?
  9. I have been messing around with this soffit for a while and have not been able to get it to show on the 3d view. I am sure it is a simple mistake. But I am at the end of my guesses. Anyone have a fix for me? if you take a 3d view of the front of the home. The sloped section of roof above the front door does not have a soffit material show. concept 3.plan
  10. I can get the tubs to set correct using a point to point move. My comment was directed more to why is this set up like this? Are we in doing this differently than the majority of users in other areas.
  11. Here in Minnnesota, we set our tubs to framing,(bathrooms are usually framed 60 1/8") then drywall to the flange, tapers infill and tidy up around the tub shower wall edges. My chief tub/showers always want to set against the drywall. Is this a personal problem or is this a construction method difference between regions. I know you out west folk do things odd sometimes.
  12. I also searched file explorer for untitled, I did not have any plan files saved as untitled. This is a process problem on my end, but it would really be nice to have a single backup file running called untitled in archives. Even if this was overwritten each time you started a new sketch.
  13. fixed, called support. we manually downloaded core catalogs... selected library tab, (top of window) selected down load core catalogs. we are at 25%+ thanks MarkMc
  14. is this bug fixed. I just fired up a new computer, downloaded the chieft x8, the program initaited the core catalog download and the a dialoge box popped twice saying the download failed. I was able to download all the other library catalogs. I am just missing all the basic textures from the core catalogs. lenovo p50 with m1000, windows 10
  15. Also make sure your grade elevation is correct in the story pole defaults settings. Either this doesn't auto adjust to terrain specs or I am doing something wrong.
  16. Followed this thread searching for a solution for the auto interior 2 dimensions per wall. a 3' x 10' closet has 2) 3' dimensions and 2) 10' dimensions. this gets a bit crowded.
  17. that worked.... keep it simple, thanks. also FYI a cant replicate the issue now unless I offset the porch wall at east 2" out of alignment.
  18. I got this little gable to operate right when I changed the invisible porch wall to a standard 2x4 exterior wall which runs continuos through the corner
  19. why does this keep creating a gable on the end of this front porch shed roof? I will attach the plan files, thanks for the heads up. not quite up to speed on the forum etiquette . trouble uploading.... used advanced uploader...No file was selected for upload has anyone seen this note before? I also tried another version of the same file, slightly smaller. i got "This upload failed" I will research this error and update the question when I get this figured out.
  20. I was attempting to create a simple elliptical window, 3624, and This is a fixed window, with eliptical arch, reflected. and this answered the question. thanks
  21. wow, thanks, this is a good addition to the library.
  22. x6 the default bullet or button is now on the bottom of the materials > walls >
