I have had trouble printing to Adobe in the past, but only on odd layouts, so never got to the bottom of it. put it down to some sort of discrepancy between the 2 programs.

I now use Foxit and don't seem to be having any problems.

Yes take time to learn saved plan views. I am just up ahead of you on this path, and I also at first thought what is the point. Having done things one way for 20 years it is definitely a bit of a change in thought and I am still tweaking things to make more benefit.

Mike think of the cad detail as drawing in model space in acad.

I have all my details drawn in seperate plan files, all drawn at 1 to 1 just like a floor plan. Then link each reqd detail to my layout at the reqd scale 1:10, 1:5 etc.

this makes it easy to save as a detail when it is not quite right for a specific instance. Just use a good naming convention.

too many questions, try the F1 key to learn about raytracing.

what version of the program?? what are your computer specs?? just some of the reqd info to start answering.

from X1 I believe tou will have to buy a new licence to upgrade to the latest.

We have been doing digital submissions for several years here in NZ. The biggest down side is you loose contact with the plan checkers and they become keyboard warriors, and wont talk on the phone. With lodgement I find you have to take longer to ensure that all files have actually been uploaded. With different systems for different authorities it can be confusing, but at least you don't have to make an appointment then travel to their office. So overall it seems easier and you can lodge at any time of the day or night.

what happens to the preview if you change the material?

I am thinking a bug in the program with that material.

does it show in a wall in the model?

probably need to make a new wall definition without the drywall.

alter the drawing group number so things appear behind others.

I am pleased to see all the good humour in the current situation. at least it was easily fixable now that I have slept on it will hunt down a backup and send i a report.

Mick had to look what I had done as it was so long ago, just blended the colour material is pine rafter.

This one is a little weird, but in plan view I could marquee select and force rebuild. then all ok.

Has anyone seen this before? It was all good this morning when I closed the file to work on something else. Then the client arrived for our final meeting I opened the file and did a perspective full overview and got the following, most of the trusses show down below the ground. I can individually click on them to open, then close the dbx and they move to where they are supposed to be.

Dont know if it is a bug or what it is.

have you renamed any of your directories?, just an outside chance as you say it has happened twice. so maybe a hardware glitch?

Saved plan views will do some of this.

I dont think just sending the report covers it as they are asking for the steps to reproduce.

You are definitely missing something .

I use a # for the page number as K bird said then when you remove a page everything after that page renumbers automatically. same if you add an extra page.

I would try deleting your current page table and place in another one, there may be some weird broken link.

Windows built-in functionality works for me ctrl-c then ctlr-alt-v. this works in all cases I have tried plan to plan or page to page.
