I work with other CAD programs depending on project needs. A portion of a previous CA project needs to be revised in an ArchiCAD project. Long story. Anyway I am having no luck opening the 3D dwg model in ArchiCAD. I have tried all the different autocad export versions and several import conversions. However I only get 2d lines on a floor plan view. Am wondering if any others have had similar experience and a possible solution. Option might be a translator to convert to IFC or SKP?

I prefer One Drive as there are so many other services they offer. Also if you use office and / or excel the files operate seamlessly from desktop application to online. Not so with google products.

I will have to experiment with leaving it on. And recently I believe you are correct that there may be some other issue with speed as I have recently started to get an occasional blue screen of death. BTW I closed that project to work on another. Opening it back up again the cursor is gone. Thanks.

I have auto rebuild off to help with speed.

Oops. Too soon. Keeps coming back.

Never mind. Did it again and it went away.

So I did make some changes to my roof planes which probably triggered the cursor. After Rebuild Walls/Floors/Ceilings its still there. Any way to pinpoint what needs to be resolved? Thanks.

Got it now. Thank you so much.

Curious as to how to find out what this is trying to tell me.

Ah! Super easy. Thanks.

I am working on tenant improvements for an office that wants the ends of the walls between the open offices to be glass. I used a shower door and can get the glass to go to the ceiling but we want to get rid of the little bit of wall at the end. Am assuming CA wants some framing there. Any way to accomplish a frame less glass partition? Glass wall.pdf

Ok am getting it now. Sections don't update the details. Is there a way to remove the auto detail then redo auto detail? Like an auto detail refresh?

Thanks for the replies. However, Tried to revise wall and floor to show insulation and does not work. Nothing updates at all. Frustrating. As far as concrete topping I want it on the second floor but not on the first floor. Is there no way to distinguish? Also noticed some sections show second floor as wall plate floor framing and some show as baloon framing.

I continuation from an earlier post I have a few things I am trying to work out my detail sections. The attached image explains a lot. This is probably a bit complicated of a project for me in this stage of my learning curve and I think I may have messed a few things up. Starting at the top The attic is not a room so I am assuming that is why I cannot get the insulation into the correct walls. Also am unsure why there are two instances of insulation in the attic wall and ceiling. There is an interior closet that opens to a loft and things get really messed up if I try to show a ceiling as it takes the walls all the way to the next level. Next is how to show insulation between the first and second floor apartments. I can show a hatch as a workaround but am sure there is a way to set parameters to show insulation. Third is the first floor should be a simple 4" slab on grade but is shows a 2" topping. Is that something controlled in room structure or in foundation floor above settings. Have posted the test plan if anyone is kind enough to dive into my quagmire. Thanks in advance. The Hazel TEST.plan

Well there you go. This job was shelved for a bit and I jump back and forth to CA and ArchiCAD so totally forgot what I did. Auto detail it is. Thanks for the reminder. Also the insulation corrected itself. Thanks.
