glennw
Perry, It seems to be a W10 problem, although I am no windows expert.. I googled it and it is a common problem. Whatever, it is now fixed with no ill effects.
RussellDelaney
Windows 10 upgraded itself onto my desktop a few weeks ago. Works Fine. Today I tried to open a PL1 file created in Chief 10. I am using Chief X8. When I click on the PL1 file I get a windows 10 screen which asks which app I want to open file with. There is no option to open the file in Chief. Can anyone advise how I should tackle this. Thankyou, Russell Delaney
glennw
Russell, It should open within Chief with File...Open Plan. Or, Control Panel..Default Programs...Associate a file type or protocol with a specific program.
kMoquin
Perry, It is set to Balanced. the setting is at Advanced Power Settings...PCI Express...Link State Power Management. I haven't had a problem with freezing since I turned this off. I think it has also stopped one of my monitors from switching off and on randomly. Holy Cow! I changed this setting to balanced and my PC is lightning fast now! I had been wondering why it wa snot as fast as I'd hoped it would be. Thanks Glenn.
