Joe_Carrick
I find that the easiest way to do Board and Batt Walls is to define a "Wall Type" with an additional 3/4" thick layer of 2" Framing Material spaced at 12" o.c. When the Wall Framing is created this layer can be seen in Camera Views if the "Framing, Walls" layer is displayed. If your wall is SIP or some other non-conventional framing type you can set the Wall Framing to have only 1 top and bottom Plate and all the Headers to be only 2" in height. There may still be some Batts that you will want to delete or move at doors and windows but it will mostly be automatic. OTOH, if you have a conventionally framed wall, leave the dbl top plate and header sizes for the framing and just edit those members for that exterior framing layer. The easiest way to do this editing will be in the Wall Detail, Layer 1.
DRAWZILLA
And if you really want to be lazy, like me, there are some vertical batt siding in the lib.
MikeR1969
Thanks! I've been using polyline solids to manually add batts in elevation views (to get the shadows in renderings). I'll have to try this!
Joe_Carrick
Latest method - thanks to Johnny for the idea. 1. Use Corner Boards 2. Use a Wall Material Region (don't cut Wall Surface layer) for the vertical Batts 3. Use Multi-Copy to copy them 4. For horizontal Batts just use additional Wall Material Regions or Molding Polylines. The beauty of this solution is that Doors and Windows will automatically cut the Wall Material Regions.
