Is someone willing to show me rather than just fix it? I want to learn what I am doing wrong, or help me find the correct software menu. I have searched the forums and help. Thanks in advance. I clicked the full gable wall in the menu as shown. But the gable does not show up in the 3D views. I am confused on why this feature does not work. Can anyone guide me to make a correction? DBCooper Posted Sunday at 10:50 PM Share Posted Sunday at 10:50 PM Do you have "auto rebuild" turned on for your roofs? You should be able to find it in the "build roof" dialog. If auto rebuild is off, changing the settings in the wall dialog won't actually change your roofs until you rebuild them. Same as moving a wall or pretty much anything else that might affect your roofs. If you do have auto rebuild turned on, then it should work so you might want to post your plan so that someone can check it out. There are some more obscure settings that may or may not affect your situation, such as having made roof baseline polylines or the minimum alcove size. BTW, HD Pro 2013 is pretty old at this point so there probably are not going to be a lot of people that still have it. Some of the advice you get may not work for you. In the past, if I leave auto rebuild roofs on, it will alter the whole roof different than I would like. I thought I had to turn that off so it stays as I prefer. Again, I am learning and love the input and feedback. is there a way to make the gable at the bedroom wall and not change the rest of the roof structure? So if you want a gable roof over that bump out, you either have to build it using the manual roof tools or you have to rebuild the automatic roofs. If you rebuild the automatic roofs, then any manual changes you have made will be lost so you might have to redo them. If you want to build that gable manually, then you will have to learn how to use the manual roof tools. There is a bit of a learning curve for building roofs manually but there should be lots of training videos that will help. Personally, I like to work with the automatic roof planes turned on as long as I can and I only turn them off when I absolutely need to. I don't know what you needed to change to turn off the automatic roofs but my guess is that you might not need to do this. The automatic roofs used to be rather basic many years ago so it was pretty common for people to turn them off and just do things manually. These days they can handle most common situations so I can avoid manual changes in many of my plans. So assuming the changes you made manually were pretty easy, I would recommend that you just rebuild the roof using the automatic tools to get the new gable. Then you could either do the manual changes again or see if you can figure out how to make the automatic roof do what you need. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
