tomzak
Hello all, I am trying to recreate a real house in Home Designer Pro. The existing project has a complex outer wall design, where most of the wall is 30cm thick brickwork (with plaster on both sides), but there are 2 alcoves on each side of the building which are much thinner (~10cm) and built out of wood. I can model them fine for the most part with different wall types, but I run into problems when there's a corner of the thicker wall that only has 10cm of the ticker wall in use. As soon as I connect the interior wall to the exterior one, HD forces my thick exterior wall to be shorter, and expands the thin one. How do I prevent this from happening? Images here, since the forum seems to be having a problem with my attachments: https://imgur.com/a/R4SXlUS
Michael_Gia Posted yesterday at 01:05 AM Share Posted yesterday at 01:05 AM Use invisible walls at 90° on one side to stop the joining from happening.

vincinlon Posted yesterday at 09:04 AM Share Posted yesterday at 09:04 AM Its sounds like wall connection priority issue, using Room Divider or Invisible Walls can block HD Pro from forcing unwanted wall merges at corners. You can also manually define wall layers using the Wall Layer Intersection tool to keep those structural zones intact. I ran into this while modeling a stone farmhouse with timber-framed sections; splitting walls by material and using breaks at transition points totally fixed the resizing issue. Best of luck.
