Steve_Nyhof
I wanted to do this for years, and maybe others know how, but I typically paste in an image of my Model. When the client changes something I recopy and paste in a new image. With this way the model view will update when you Save the Camera View... So much better! Example of Live view. You cannot use Plot Lines if your model has shadows. https://my-plan.stevenyhofdesigns.com/v/3LCF5xitLHQu9EZkxClD Example of Send Current Screen as Image
SHCanada2
This is the only way I do it although I use update on demand. I refuse to create images and constantly send them to layout. The downside to this method is the print to pdf takes a lot longer for page sizes larger than tabloid. And it gets worse if you have more than one on layout. I posted some statistics a couple years ago with different dpis and page sizes. ...and every once in awhile the house just moves from the center of the layout box. I haven't figured out the reason
Steve_Nyhof
Thank you for the info. Yes, I changed it to On Demand and saved that in my .layout template. I also set up four cameras in my default .plan template that is connected (see video below on how) to my .layout
SHCanada2
I have my template layout linked to my template plan and the four elevations are already on the layout as well as the kitchen layout and a cross section and details linked to the plan. I have a 3d camera linked but it never seems to line up from house to house so it's kind of useless. We're you able to get a 3d camera to work from plan to plan without having to resend to layout? Steve_Nyhof
What I have learned is that you can set your camera into plot mode once it is connected to your layout. You also need to turn off Shadows. OR, you can set your camera in live mode and keep your shadows on. But live mode will make the layout file much larger. Now when I add my layout to my drawing file it connects the 4 cameras I have set up in Plot Line mode and I need to refresh the views when I make changes to my elevations. But I no longer need to open a new camera and select my view and copy and paste in image over and over.
Steve_Nyhof
Here is a plan that is Plot Lines for the cameras... 2.90MB https://drive.google.com/file/d/1y8E1y-Ax2S0aU5GFfY-Dsd-eeIemornC/view?usp=sharing Here is a plan that is Live View for the cameras...13.3MB Ouch! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NFdZOBurvXsrW0PaUFl1le38m2WZkOh_/view?usp=sharing The size of the camera view window plays a big role in the PDF file size. I reduced the size of the windows to be close to the house and the file size went down to 5.11MB from 13.3MB I typically like my files to be less than 15MB, but surely less than 25MB so I can send them in gmail. This is an example of how I will use the 3D Cameras. This plan is shown with images in Technical Illustration. 42N2246 Kelly and April Lappinga.pdf
Steve_Nyhof
In Plot Lines mode you can override the plan defaults to get a lighter, cleaner look
