stevenyhof
Does anyone know a way to stop the door opening from cutting out the foundation below. I have my door flush to the top of the foundation floor and wall, but it still cuts out the opening. I have raised my door but that does not work. Thank you, Steve

SNestor
Steve - I think all you need to do is change the top of wall "elevation of lower wall top" for the pony wall. See attached screen clip.
SNestor
Steve - well, that actually does not change the foundation plan view. I think this is because you are actually cutting the lower portion of the pony wall?
SNestor
Steve - Well, I placed the door elevation relative to the "Finished Floor"...along with my change to the "elevation of lower wall top"...and it seems to work. I also turned off the "exterior casing".
stevenyhof
Thank you, Steve. The walls I'm having a problem with are the front larger doors (see highlight). I have a foundation plan that is set to lower walls only... I do not seem it have problems with the doors you show. Maybe something moved on the plan when you opened it. For now to keep going I just put in boxes with the hatch...
SNestor
That front wall is a pony wall...and you placed a door into the wall that is cutting the lower portion of the wall. I don't think Chief will show the remaining area of the wall below the door. Just a guess...but, the actual "foundation" wall is below the door. And...since that wall is exposed to freeze...it will have to have a deep footing. Maybe you should have placed the lower level plan on "level 1"...and had a true foundation plan on "level 0"? Thank you, Steve! I have drawn houses with a lower basement before. My template is just not set up for that. Maybe it is time to setup another template for that situation.
