olyconstruction
Hey guys i was wondering if someone could help me in the creation of a 3D Wall detail for a project. I'm still fairly new to CA and i have yet to discover how to achieve this. I have searched the forums as well as you tube but i have had no luck. Thanks, Armando
evergreen
What exactly do you want to do/show?
olyconstruction
I want to show a typical 2x4 Wall detail in an isometric view as opposed to a 2D view. I was thinking about trying to show just the wall framing in a 3D view and annotating that once i sent it to layout.
evergreen
Something like this? This is a current project of mine and will be used just as is (no annotation as of now), but will be accompanied by 2D details...some of the framers like to see the finished product before they start (The signature value of CA)
olyconstruction
Yea kinda like that, but is it possible to show the sheathing and insulation? Or do those have to be added as 2D details?
Joe_Carrick
It can be done. It's not real easy, but using a series of Material Regions on a Wall (each region with an additional material layer) would probably be the easiest way to do it.
