Jake1976
Hello all, I'm working on a project that will be using smooth Hardie Panel extensively for the siding. I'd like to be able to locate the reveals in 3d, some of them will be a bit random, deviating from the panel sizes. I'd like this to show up in 3d, as well as the exterior elevations, and be able to dimension to it. Ideally, you'd see the reveals, and have 3d affect to them, but even itf it's just a 3d line thatI can draw on the siding, that would work too. What am I missing? How would you all go about achieving this? Jacob Here's a link to a screenshot of the exterior elevation that the architect sent me. https://capture.dropbox.com/Ss03nxaVShAHKqhl
javatom
You could make the wall material smooth and use material regions of thinner material for the locations you want the reveals.
Jake1976
Thanks, yes, that's what I've been doing, but it seems like a lot of work for something quite simple. Is there no way to draw 3d lines in chief?

Can always do a wall def with the reveal backing showing, and then model individual panels with solids.. let me know if you find a simpler way.
