Different floor material areas

I'm still fairly new to Chief and have mostly learned from just playing around with things. Is there a way to create a custom-shaped section for a different material? For example, I am trying to make a curved pathway of wood, while the surrounding material is carpet.

I was able to create the pathway using polylines, and then changed the fill to a wood-plank pattern on the plan view. But I am trying to see the differentiated pathway in the rendered perspective view.

Should I be using the polyline tools to do this or is there a better way?

Get used to material regions Keara.  A great tool for floors, walls where you have two material areas.

In this case, go to the Build menu at the top, then to Floor - Material Region

Even better would be to take the polyline that’s already created and use the Convert Polyline tool to Convert to a Material Region.
