Maggie331
I was sent my drawing in a .dwg file. When I attempt to import the file, it all opens on 1 page, so each floor is stacked on top of the other. How do I import the file to see each page/floor of the drawing? Solution para-CAD Posted January 28, 2023 Solution Share Posted January 28, 2023 I’ve never tried importing DWG to the layout file. I typically import it to a blank plan file and try to work with it there. Now you have me curious if I’ve been doing it wrong all these years
Maggie331
I doubt you were doing it wrong, it was me. I just received the entire plan and now I can open it. I just don't know how to delete my question
para-CAD
I would leave your question as it might be useful in the future to someone. I always like to see the problem and solution in anything. Watching an expert make a mistake and then HOW they solve it.....is the best way for me to learn.
DBCooper
Next time you have to import a dwg, I would import it into a plan file, not a layout. While you are in the "importing drawing assistant", you can select which layers you want to import and you can even map them to whatever Chief layers you want to using the "advanced layer mapping". You can find lots of info on this by using the help button in the assistant.
