Rich_Winsor
Since there seems to be a lot of discussion about cabinets here lately I thought I would throw this one out there also. This little PITA is called a 3 Drawer Corner Cabinet. After wasting a couple of hours (including watching a Chief video) trying to wring this out of the Base Cabinet Spec DBX I threw in the towel and settled for a 5 minute hack since all I was after was the appearance and not the functionality. I just stuck a 3D Solid in the corner and slapped some drawer fronts from the library onto it. Just for my edification I'd like to know if this configuration is doable as a cabinet? Solution Joe_Carrick Posted September 20, 2022 Solution Share Posted September 20, 2022 Yes, just use a Corner Cabinet & uncheck the "Diagonal Door" then change the Front Face to 3 Drawers. The Drawers won't open, but otherwise that's it.
Joe_Carrick
BTW, I've seen this cabinet configuration - but IMO it's way too expensive. It's easier and far less cost to just use a narrow (about 18" wide) cabinet set at an angle of 45 degrees. Also be very careful to provide adequate clearance between the drawer fronts and the side of the cabinet so that the drawers can actually be opened without hitting the adjacent cabinet drawers. Full overlay just won't work. I typically use a 3/4" spacer panel or extended stile on the sides of adjacent cabinets.
Rich_Winsor
Not to hi-jack my own thread or in any way disparage Joe, but I did not mark this thread as "Solved". In fact I hadn't even read the replies yet when it was marked as Solved. If I didn't then who else has the power to do so? Just trying to figure what happened and when? Original Post: 23 hours ago Joe's response: 20 hours ago I log in tonight - 22 hours since my last visit Go to read the new replies and find the thread marked as solved even though I haven't read the replies yet??? I think this is the point where I invoke the old standby...WTF? It's bad enough that we have people marking their own posts as the Solution. Now apparently anybody can mark my posts as Solved too. BTW, when I calm down I'll have a play with it Joe.
Joe_Carrick
Hi Joey, I thought you had marked it "solved". I had no idea that anyone else could do that. In fact, the only place I've been able to find that option is in this (Q&A) Forum for my own threads. Maybe it was one of the CA Moderators. If not then you must have been "Sleep Browsing" unless someone else has your ChiefTalk login info.
