Adding Existing Models to 3d Polyline Solids

Hello,

 

I am trying to create some custom furniture, but I didn't want to have to re-invent the wheel with things like knobs that may appear on the furniture. But when I create a new object from 3d polyline, cannot seem to add other materials to it in order to create the completed object:

 

 

Is there a way to add things like knobs (or anything that is already an object) to something created via 3D Polylines?

Yes. Add and place the knob, then in a camera view with nothing else displayed, use the "Convert to Symbol" tool. Or, in plan view, marquee select the table and the knob, then use the "Convert Selected to Symbol" tool.

Or, instead of converting it into a symbol, you could create an architectural block.  Both have their advantages but an arch block can be exploded later if you want to change out the knobs.
