Symbols or Blocks, Material help?

I am trying to put wood slats over a stucco wall (client request)

In vector view of the wall I want to be able to fade the lines of all the slats.

What is the best way to handle this?

You can do it if you don't use slats. Use one material with a bump map for the texture and then no pattern for the vector views.

 

Just take a screen shot of what you have and use that for the texture and test it on another wall before editing the original.
