Putting mineral wool for sound insulation in most walls

Hello,

I'd try to make my house much more quiet.   I've seen a number of videos and there are levels of sound insulation.   For the most part I'll just be putting mineral wool in the walls.   When I try to modify them - it makes the walls thicker as I don't know how to add it as a bat or between stud insulation.  Instead of 4 1/2" walls they become 8".   I'm sure it is obvious but I haven't figured it out - if it matters I'm using X12.

Don't make a new layer unless that is how it is actually going to be designed with a thicker wall.   Normally just put a checkmark in the "Ins" column of the main layer.

If you want to show it in 3D you will need to put it in manually.
