Francois
I have imported a 3D DXF file from a Disto lase tape I can read all data points in 2D only and placed the walls but how do I get the vertical plane so I control the heiht of room, window andoors? I do not have Autocad I have attached the plan along with the 2D and 3D files that the Disto produced. Chopsaw
You can take a look at the 3D file with a free version of Autodesk True View, but all I get is this and it does not really look like a house. Maybe Disto can provide some support ? It seems that you can use True View to manually extract the XYZ data for each measured point using the "Locate Point" tool. You could then plot that out in Chief but not sure how that is faster than taking actual measurements. Let us know how it goes. Possibly someone else here has actually done this before.
