What does this setting do? Is it like overshooting corners as a drafting style?

I think I remember something about that if your line styles such as dashes don't look right, then this setting could be the problem.

The line will print solid at each end the specified distance regardless of line style.

Why don't you do a test and change the value and see what happens? Trial and error is a good teacher.

I agree, but I have been doing testing in other features with no results that I can see, yet may be changing other things not related. It is like moving into a new house and trying out all the light switches and finding one that seems to go to nothing until the neighbor comes over and says "Cut it out!"
