How do I make a stair landing over a door on the second story

Recommended Posts

I am trying to create a second landing in my stairs that just so happens to be above a door on my first floor. Instead of creating the landing where I am trying to position it to lead to the second floor, my stairs and landing are going through the door. I have attached a screenshot of what is currently happening. I am just trying to get my stairs to go to the second floor and not be squashed into the door. Also I have Chief Architect 10X

Thank you!

It looks like you don't have enough stair to reach the next level. Have you done a Make Best Fit?

You will need to make the first set of treads/risers longer so that the second landing can be higher.  Then make the third set just as long as it needs to be.  All three sets should have the same riser and tread sizes per code.

Automatic Stairs only work for some of the most basic configurations.  Three run stairs are not one of those.

Imagine one of these treads is your landing. It looks to me like only the top most visible one will clear the door.

Maybe the 2nd one down?

I have designed a pergola and a deck. I cannot get the terrian to show right. It needs to be zero of level at back of deck by pool deck and slowly slope down to a bayou. it needs to be 36" to grade at edge of outer deck Then a stair going down to the end of stair which is around 5 fr lower that top of deck. I have not did much terrian and would appreciate your help. This is just a remodeling and adding a deck from the pool.
      Thank  you,

The living room offers a peek to the upstairs living area via the stairway. The glass panel railings and open concept design create a mechanism for the big windows on the first floor and the high shed windows on the 2nd floor to collaborate on the sharing of light and air between floors.

I am stuck on this one. I have a railing at the top of the stairs that I can't seem to get rid of. When I delete it the stair opening disappears. When i re-add the stair opening the railing across the top comes back.
