I bought everything on my list for sale. Around Black Friday seems to be a good time to buy computer parts. Lol And just one more thing: The Ripper has a known issue with causing core temperature readings to be 5 degrees C higher than reality. Rosco2017
There has got to be something I'm missing. I installed the new RAM and the CPU still maxes out at 99-100% making it impossible to do any other tasks on the machine. I feel like this machine should be able to handle multiple tasks while rendering. It has to be some kind of setting I'm missing. Any Ideas? Below is an updated list of my computer's parts. I set it for about 28 to be used and that still allows me to use intensive programs like AI, Photoshop, ID etc. Are all of your cores enabled in Ryzen Master? I regularly work using about 46 GB of RAM, and as said before the Ripper loves all the DIMM's to be filled.
Kbird1
Not familiar with Ryzen Master , but make sure Chief , in the Preferences>Render Tab is not using the MAX number of cores ...default is max , I set it to 8 or 10 on my 12 core 5820K, ( 6 physical cores x2 with HT) computer so I can still work in other programs too. The Raytrace will obviously be a bit slower though. If i leave mine on 12 , things get pretty hot so I don't do it any longer.... M.

All of my cores are enabled in Ryzen Master. I dropped my cores used in Chief to 28 like yours and that solved me maxing out issue. I think I'm in the homeward stretch here. I'm not experiencing anymore crashes (knock on wood) and the changing the cores used in chief solved my CPU issue. I have some work to do tonight and I will let you know how the system holds up. Fingers crossed! Thank you for all your help.

It will be slower......but still faster than 90% of the cpu's on this forum! Fully maxed out and overclocked our systems will crush most dual Xeon systems at a fraction of the cost! I have already beat some of them rendering benchmarks here. 2 minutes ago, Rosco2017 said: Yes. All of my cores are enabled in Ryzen Master. Once you get the wrinkles ironed out you will be very happy with the stability, computing and rendering power, it's the best computer I've ever had. Did you know that a Ripper is really just a Epyc processor for retail?
Kbird1
I don't have a Ryzen ... so don't use Ryzen Master as I assume it's only for AMD Chips, that's why I'm not familiar with it's uses having an Intel 5820K. M.
