I did this with p-solids, and was a pain. How do others do framing wrapped brick/stone columns?

How do you get arches?

How do you get the cast stone details?

 

Or was the way I did it best? Attached partial plan.

I would probably use a pony wall with an arched doorway with the casing turned off.

I tried that, I had bad luck with inside arched doorway showing wood in 3D. The floor plan did not have brick wrapped at openings.

I'll take another look at it.

I agree with Tom. Use pony walls with doorways set to no casing and then moulding lines or p solids for decorative casing. Just adjust the walls in elevation for your decorative rail.
