johnny
I really hope I am missing something where someone can't center a line in elevation with an object. That function seems to be turned off for all 2d, but I know that can't be since thats insane. We already have next to no snaps that work in elevation/section modes. We can make lines and 2d parallel to objects, but must be missing a nuance here.
Richard_Morrison
About the best you can do now is to create a CAD Detail from View, snap your line there, and then copy and "paste/hold position" back onto the 3D elevation.
Alaskan_Son
Unfortunately I don't think you're missing anything Johnny and I fully agree...seems stupid. I think the best alternatives are to either do as Richard suggested and utilize a CDFV or... You can also use Point To Point Move along with extension snaps... OR You can draw a quick polyline solid. center that, and then snap your CAD to the polyline solid... OR A combination of the above...p-solid>center>pt. to pt. using extension snaps.
