marcdevon
Simple question. When specifying the height of a window in CA X6 (floor to top) is this the top of the frame or the top of the rough opening?
Rich_Winsor
Interesting, I never really thought about it but if you put a default window into a default exterior wall (with a default floor to top dimension of 80") and take a couple of cross sections this is where the 80" is measured. Kbird1
should be frame but top of it or inner edge of top frame ?....should same as in the real world ... it is usually the same height as your Door Frame so all the trim lines up, so may depend on the details , ie int. door is 80" plus 1" gap under, plus 1" frame at top ( 3/4 plus gap) so RO would be 82 1/2 minimum , more for ext. doors as they have a sill to allow for as well so add 1 1/2" inch ? . Or the 3/4" thick Top frame should be the same height as the 3/4" Door Frame Header. M.
