Beadboard on Walls

Recommended Posts

I just figured out that if you go under room specifications and search a molding using the word ,bead  BBM36,BBM48,BBM96 comes up from the Durasupreme catalog. You can use this to place beadboard up the wall at whatever height you want around the room. This looks great compared to using beadboard as a texture. But for some reason the is bead molding will not show on the wall where the door is. I tried deleting the door and it still does not show up. Attached is a picture showing where it will not display, the base and chair rail still displays. Then I attached a picture where I have added 2 polyline solids with a beadboard texture to fill in the space. Has anyone come across this issue or may have an idea how to fix it.

An easier solution is to use a Wall Material Region for the Beadboard.

Two suggestions:

1) Try adjusting the horizontal offset of your beadboard molding. You may have to adjust it in or out to get it to show up properly. I've had to do this for exterior stone when it didn't render initially.

2) If that doesn't work, you can always convert your molding to a polyline. Then you have 100% control over how far in and out it shows, plus you have the full power of polylines behind it so you can have differing depths, hide in areas, etc.

Is there anything I can do to either reduce or eliminate the lines the column moldings are producing in vector view?  I did convert the curve to a polyline...and divided the circle into very small parts...but it doesn't seem to help.

Any ideas would by great.  Thanks.

Here's a couple pics...a sample plan is attached also. (Column Molding in Vector View.plan)

Gang, I apologize in advance if this was already addressed here, but I couldn't find it.

Often, I am asked to build an addition on a deck-style foundation.  Is there a simple way to do this that doesn't take forever?  I can manipulate the software to eventually do what I want, but there has to be an easier way!

To install beadboard in a bathroom, I specified a baseboard moulding and a chair rail then used custom backsplash along all of the walls, set to white beadboard.  Custom backsplash automatically avoided the windows and outlets, etc.  Thought I'd share this in case someone else is struggling with this as I did for a while.

I am working on a living room/kitchen where I have added a cathedral ceiling and exposed beams.  I wanted to make the walls higher since the beams can't go above the wall height.  After I adjusted my walls to 12' the molding stayed at the default wall height.  How can I move the molding to match the new wall height?
