Wrought Iron Ballusters Are Turned Wrong

I am trying to place wrought iron ballusters in a set of stair railings and am finding them to render in a 90 degree angle to the rail.

 

I have a attached a simple 3D view to visualize the issue.

 

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

1.  Copy that Baluster to your user Library

2.  Right Click on the name in your user Library and open it.

3.  Rotate 90 degrees about the z-axis

4.  Go to your Stair (or the railing itself if it's not a part of the stair) - Open and select the modified Baluster for the railing.

This was just what needed to be done.

 

I would have never or maybe by the year 2017 been able to find that fix.

Super beginner here, but as an alternative I think I solved that issue recently by putting in the wrought iron as a panel instead.

The selected rail that you are placing should be "panel" in the rail style dbx and in the newel/baluster dbx, select the ironwork panel that you want from the library. They are not balusters. You will need to specify some other dimensions and parameters  information in the boxes as well. The ironwork will not need to be rotated this way.

Some Symbols will work as Balusters and some will work as Panels and then some will work as either one.

You are correct. I have created a particular baluster for a project a few years ago as a symbol. When I wanted to use the Ironwork provided, I got the same 90 degree problem and struggled to find the right CA video. I don't do fences as a rule, but wanted to refresh my mind as well.
