  1. Even if you convert the PDF to DWG or indeed, if you bring a DWG file directly into Chief you can not modify the DWG in any sort of 3 dimensional way if that is what you mean.

You can work the 2D DWG file in the 2D Chief mode but that is the extent unless you build the Chief model on top of the PDF or the DWG.

    Andy.

  2. You checked that that layer for plants was on but did you click the OK button?

Sounds weird I know but I have found that sometimes when in Layout even though the particular window box is layer is set to the correct layer set, I need to click the O.K. button after opening it in Layout in order for that layer set to sync up correctly.

  3. that little line in your first picture is part of a an attic wall that still existing.

Take a camera view from inside the room toward that wall , then click the wall and delete it.

The other issue can be taken care of I just don't have the time.

    Good luck.

  4. Yeah, Im running OS X unfortunately and the file is not compatible.

Meaning you are running Chief version 10?

If so then post the Sketchup file I assume you found that works and would like and someone here may be able to convert to a usable file type for you.

  5. So does this work if I forget to shutdown CA on the computer at work and need to open CA at home?

Oh my god man, never never never do that. you could ruin the entire computer and melt the network gahoozies.

    Just kidding of course.

I forget to computer off using CA or deactivate on one or whatever.

With this new over the net activate/deactivate and can do it from where ever I happen to be and I love Chief for that.

    Thank you Chief.

  6. Yes, CA can do it all for you, all you have to do is input the needed information and CA will do all the engineering calculations for you and even submit the plans to the city.

  7. I always look at that stuff and click the links that might be there. Mostly just out of curiosity.

Why just the other day I was able to invest a large amount of money with some really nice Russian outfit via the internet.

I stand to gain 10 times my investment in just a few days.

Can't beat that with a stick.

    Andy.

  8. I do believe that the default plan template does have  all the wall definitions that come in Chief.

I think Chief made a few wall types that can be customized to fit the vast array of definitions that users will define. (from the department of redundancy bureau).

If you really need someone to make wall definitions for you I can do that for an exorbitant fee.

    Andy.
