  1. Ive read this thread through and the older thread, wouldnt this block out the sun?
  2. How do you set this up where the sunlight is unaffected by the object in front of the window and, when the sun settings are set to allow this, does it create problems with other objects you do not want this effect on?
  3. Is there a way to rotate an spherical background other than rotating everything on the plan? What determines the horizontal orientation in chief?
  4. This was my misunderstanding... I assumed the revolve tool simply rotated a solid but apparently it does not act as I expected... Now to get a handle on the settings. Thanks for your help pointing me in the right direction
  5. The shape has been exploded but what is the unnecessary face?
  6. To This? It is basically what I did, I just do not know how to do that step with anything other than a molding polyline.
  7. I have done this method for making columns before to some extent and I understand the profile concept of a lathe so I am following you there, but how do I make my solid subtraction section cylindrical so that I could create the round profile I need in the center? Is there a tool that can extrude a solid the same way creating a molding will extrude a saved molding profile?
  8. I've made a molding profile from the cross section and extruded it to my process 1 shape. The top and bottom are now oversized cylinders that need to be trimmed square. Doing it this way I only had to CAD draw my profile and save it as a molding profile then extrude it. I don't see how doing this from a solid would be easier to get to this point, just that it would be in the correct form to finish the next step. Can you help me understand your workflow?
  9. It's not an easy task when you need to do this... If I could get it to a solid then I could cut the flats and be done, guess I'm headed to 3D warehouse to see what I can see. Thanks anyway
  10. Is there a way i can convert an extruded moulding to a solid shape so that i can cut away portions of it
  11. My main focus presently is Exterior work but my renderings have come along way since I've started branching into custom materials. I am familiar with the algorithmic software functionality but don't have much time or budget to get into substance designer just yet, but am definitely interested in it in the future. thanks for the work you do in creating these sbsar files so my work is just a bit easier.
  12. Thank you and youre welcome. Thank you for the compliment. Hope they help You're welcome.
  13. Thanks for the updates. I'll have to experiment with the rotate in wood builder tomorrow as I just came back to this thread today. Outsider looking in here... I have not worked with algorithmic software outside of substance player so i do not know what all goes on under the hood or how easy some changes are to implement. that being said, is there a way to create a tile builder where a user could select a pattern, how many variants to use (up to a reasonable number), and then select a tile image for each variation's base color? The player would then randomly place and rotate the variations within the overall pattern? The thought behind this is that in the manufacturing process, there are usually a few variations of a tile manufactured and they get boxed randomly then installed at random with each other. It seems like a simple way (from an outsider's perspective) to be able to generate any manufacturer's tile from a series of downloaded images. Not sure if I described well what is in my mind, but it may be worth the thought.
  14. I would include the fire pit as well but it is too large to attach. Tried compressing it and it was actually slightly larger... Fire with Logs.calibz Fire with Grate.calibz
  15. Figured I would share some library items I modified to make work in chief PBR scenes. Drag and drop fire items. Will have to attach the calibz file in a reply
  16. i did try this but i did not notice a change in how the image presented within substance player??? I am attaching a link to the file I tried since it exceeds 25MB. I am not sure how to tweek it to make it look good... there are many more like it so if you have suggestions I am all ears...
  17. Hey Dustin, was playing around a little bit with the wood builder, i found the import image very interesting... what I couldn't find though was a way to change the image orientation within the substance player program itself. I could manipulate the base image outside, but maybe an extra tool within the image manipulation menu (crop, scale, etc...) would be handy. Great work and thanks for putting these out there for us to use! Also, will the updates you talk about for these *.SBSAR files always be on page 1 or is there another place to get the latest and greatest from?
