For what it's worth, I did manage to get everything relinked, one window at a time. Got one assertion failure (always scary), but it seems to be stable now. Luckily, nearing the end of a 14 year journey with this project.

I may consider just converting the plans to DWG files and sending those to the layout.

Thanks. About what I expected, but hoping not. There is a ton of all of those things in the plan. Yeah, always back up files, and they auto archive too.

So, been working on this commercial project off and on for something like 14 years now, and it's actually going to get built. I am still in X15. I had a scary hard crash on my computer, so got a new rig and all up and running but trying to get this project transfered to another computer and working has been a real challenge. From the layout, I am trying to relink the plan views to the layout file, but it just seems to hang. Wondering if I just need to walk away from it for a while and let it do its thing, or if the files are just too large to deal with.

I no longer build myself, but spent my first 12 years as a design-build conctractor. Been full time architecture for 23 years. Been using Chief the whole time. $140/hr. Can give good faith total estimates. Based in Central Coastal California but with most jurisdictions now taking online submittals, can work fairly easily in just about any jurisdiction in the state. Doesn't seem like it would take that long to just do a Save As plan, just for this request, and just change all the walls to one layer walls with a black fill? I don't get those little white triangles at the wall intersections when I turn all the layers in this multi-layer wall to solid black fills.

Looks like you're in Vector View mode. Windows are opaque in that mode, as opposed to Standard or other modes.

There's a fairly quick and easy way to create seamless textures in Photoshop, or similar softwares. It seems complicated at first, but not too bad when you get the hang of it.

If we make it into condocs, I am going to rebuild it from the ground up. Been in the schematic phase on and off on this project for like 10 years.

Pretty sure I posted the rendering on the left here about a year ago I think. I can't for the life of me remember what the trick is go get the shadows of the curtain wall mullions to cast shadows out to the exterior. Some setting somewhere I just can't seem to find. I already tried deleting the glass in the curtain wall, but that didn't seem to do it. Anybody know the trick? Thanks, Bryce

As a workaround, I exported to DWG from x13 and re-imported to X14 That looks like it will work. Kind of a nuisance though.

Anybody else run into this issue with migrated notes? They are all screwed up now both in my template, and in my library. I remember this kind of thing coming up before, but never to this extent.

Thank you. How did you get the file to work? Doesn't look that messy to me. But, yeah, a lot of points. I can just show the topo lines, convert to CAD, and then just use the topo lines as terrain data. That should simplify it. Plus, it appears to only show the general slope of the area, not the flatter, graded areas within the lot, which I can just fudge in myself.

Thanks. Yeah, I can do the same thing, and have countless times. Just trying to get something rough from Google Earth and making sure the project is actually going to move forward before paying for a survey.

I have to chuckle at the memory from years ago of people here scoffing at my suggestion that we would eventually have real time, photo realistic raytracing, that photo realism would just become the standard render mode. I guess it has been ten years , but here we are.....

With my note callouts set to 12 for the site plan, this is how it ends up looking, with the Note Schedule taking up way more space on the page than it should.
